  1. His other creations are even more entertaining
  2. Looks great Jason, now you just need some road dirt - you should check in with budlite. As i understand he's got the necessary bumpers and inspection bits...

    Mud flaps

I attached a pair of stainless BigHeads fasteners to the inside of my fender using epoxy. The universal rubber mud flaps I picked up at the parts store are disappointingly flexible. To keep busy I cut and attached 1/8" lexan to test out flap shape and length. These prototypes are proving more flexible than I’d anticipated and may just work well. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for the salt to be washed off the roads to test these. cheers
  7. You are in quite the enviable position. However, unless you come home and make a deposit on the car it’s still tied for a se7ens tour of Cincy.

    Mud flaps

I'm installing a pair of front mud flaps to cut down on debris and dirt. (Ok, I'm just lazy and getting tired of having to clean my car every week). I've tracked down some bigheads fastenèrs for mounting, but would like to know what others have used for flaps? What works for you? And more importantly what hasn't worked? Cheers
  9. I'm an old Jersey boy in exhile: so i can't speak from experience but definitely recommend looking into registration legalities if you plan to drive on the street. As i understand it registration in NJ has become more complicated in recent years and may need to be considered as well.
  10. Josh. Search the archives for all the sage advice previously written. Be forewarned, my biggest mistake was riding in a se7en: it has been down hill from there with no regrets. I almost bought one the next week but held out another month for a wide track kit from Dick. PM me for details or if you go with a Birkin. Also check your state regs depending on your intended use. Cheers

    Registration

A friend astutely pointed out that I need to find an older/veteran employee: Someone jaded enough not to care too much. Not a young/new employee trying to doing everything by the book. Not a few year veteran who is still concerned about being disciplined or bucking for promotion. It is also important to not get someone who's not having a rotten day. piece of cake...

    Registration

Can anyone comment from experience on the receptiveness of NH & ME (and possibly MA/VT) to registering a Seven? I have the opportunity of moving to NH or ME and am not sure how heavily to weigh my birkin mistress in deciding where to live. cheers
  13. http://www.mirrorsforsevens.com/ Everyone seems like these. I certainly love mine!
  14. pardon my ignorance Other than remaining incognito to protect your identity as the Stig, What is the reason for covering license plates with tape? or phrased another way: Is big brother watching?
  15. Blatantly off topic... Is an avatar change in order now that you've become fully acquainted with the Birkin?
  16. I've requested quotes online from several carriers. This has resulted in a deluge of offeres. These have generally been ~ 6-700 open carrier, and ~ 1100 closed. This is also for a KY -> NH move.
  17. I find my birkin (wind wings, no doors) has more noise at speed from wind buffeting than the exhaust.
  18. thanks for the leads everyone. will look into these folks.
  19. A quick search here hasn't turned up much information. Does anyone have RECENT experience shipping their se7ens? (closed carrier, etc..)? Others report good experience with passport but i expect there are other acceptable options. I'm old fashioned and like referrals, especially considering the plethora of companies out there. Thanks

    Lexington, KY

Dear Comrads, I'll be in lexington this coming weekend (weather cooperating) and will bring the Birkin if anyone is up for a blat? If interested please speak up. Right now the itinerary is to meet at the Windy Corner Market around noon Sunday and drive from there. cheers.
  21. Crock From whom did you source your oil catch tank? cheers
  22. Insurance coverage seems to be a bit arbitrary (see old posts for this) another place to check is american collectors http://www.americancollectors.com/. They offered to insure my birkin without any hassle. however i've gone elsewhere so i don't have experience beyond their quote. good luck
  23. A dry day in Oregon? I had to wait 5 months for a dry day when I was in PDX. I hope this year is more obliging.

    Cat Bites

Have you considered a celing mounted winch attached to a climbing harness. It would only help in your garage but may do the trick with minimal engineering. good luck
  25. KitCat Out of curiosity, how does your you cat compare to the birkin with regards to driver/passenger space?
