    Cat Bites

BTDT, any decent cat bite needs antibiotics and drainage before you become septic! Sorry to hear about the MR reports, maybe a second (or 3rd) opinion are in order? good luck p.

    Sunday Blat

Unfortunately some resolution was lost in image downsizing This is the location of Four Roses Distillery aging warehouses... In other words, where ALL of the bourbon is!

    Sunday Blat

After setting out on a Blat today my GPS thought there was a place called "Lotus" in kentucky. Sadly there was no customary "Lotus KY" sign to photograph my car with. Here is what I found It is not exactly what I was hoping for, but is satisfactory in the end.
  4. martiki6 It is definitely worth your time to call the assorted principal importers (Birkin & Caterham, and the domestics like Brunton). They may also know about second hand clams or other cars (shameless plug... Kitcat's caterham is a great!). Another resource to check would be the locost folks. If you can't buy it, these guys usually know how to make it. If you have not yet, I strongly recommend getting a ride in as many sevens as you can. You may find the car is not to your liking, or (like me) it'll be the final nail in your coffin. Regardless of what you end up with (lotus, caterham, birkin, brunton, locost, westfield, etc....) do what makes you happy! cheers.
  5. Yikes, kidney stones are no bueno. Maybe more time in the se7en for some home made lithotripsy? A basic question, but have you tried removing the interior side panels to make room for the seats?
  6. Mike I commiserate with your predicament and hope you find a seating arrangement to make your beautiful car tolerable. There's always oxycodone, except it tends to deaden the driving experience. good luck!
  7. I think i picked up the bug driving through Ohio yesterday. Tried to go for a blat tonight, only to find my voltage dropping, and alternator not contributing. Fortunately i was able to limp home before she outright quit. If it were daytime i'd probably have seen Lucas' smoke leaking out....
  8. Aaron. Timeframe should be good, i'll take one LHD model for a Birkin S3 cheers paul
  9. Congrat's Mike! I thought you were switching to one of Dicks supercharged Duratec's. You can download the Haltech software off the web to check your ECU setup for rev limiter etc once she's back on the road. paul
  10. Aaron I'm interested but need to know what kind of timeframe you're aiming for? p.
  11. If you haven't already, take a look at http://www.locostusa.com This is a great resource for planning and building.
  12. Stay alert on 7 lakes, i always see lots of park police around Harriman. Wish i were there Paul
  13. I am an automotive GPS novice (but am familiar with handheld models). I'd like to get something primarily for the Mrs. and to assist my navigation of back roads in the Birkin. For those of you touring the twisties: Do you have any preferred brand/models of gps (not Se7en since all are exemplary). Ideally i'd like something that allows me to easily program a route, possibly from my PC, and record where i've driven. These consistently are my two greatest navigational challenges: turning on the correct back road, and trying to figure out where the heck i went after missing a turn. thanks paul
  14. Wow! a variable number of steps but it correctly identified ever time.
  15. I don't know about you, but considering I always wear eye protection/glasses i think my co-pilot should as well. (not that he'll ever ride in my seven) http://www.doggles.com/doggles.html

    today

nice shade of green, how about a lotus yellow stripe down the bonnet?
  17. It'll be a drive for me, but 80% chance i'll see you.
  18. Like all Se7ens cost is variable: less if you build yourself, more if you someone else does the work, not to mention upgrades and extras. Probably the most affordable and expedient route is to purchase a used model (insert brand, we love them all). Have you ridden in one yet? If not, beware that once you get into a seven it may be too late to go back - it was for me! cheers
  19. If you haven't already, Contact Dick Brink at Texas Motor Works. cheers
  20. Mike The car is brilliant! Sadly, the Duratec does not sound as good as your car. It's been running since august, but is not yet "Done" - if our cars ever are. Right now i'm too lazy to drive to indiapolis, but will keep this in mind
  21. Cheers Mike I too went for a nice blat around kentucky today. Although not as scenic as Croc's was in my old stomping groundp. It is still great to be back on the road. paul
  22. info from our locost colleagues here: http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=9452 good luck
  23. Mike Are your referring to Rt 9 between the bear mountain bridge and Peekskill? I'm from further south, but used to pass through the area in the night. Now i can only have wet dreams of driving this section of Rt 9 in my seven some day. paul
  24. I tested a pair of sonic valve's on a quick gas run this week and found them to be inadequate for anything more than a slow drive around the block. Thanks for all the feedback. The SilentEars look intriguing. paul
  25. Ooh BRG highlights sound just about right to me, my birkin's still in her birthday suit
