  2. Croc items d & h seem like sage advice... but my mischievous side thinks it could warrant procurement of decoy attire & accesories. p.

As a bit of a newcomer here, i would strongly recomend you review this site (and others) archives with regards to a particular seller of many classic british cars in the northeast. I don't have any experience with the outfit in question, but usually there is at least some truth to reputations (good and bad)

    good luck with your search!

  8. I'm no physicist. But I cured the same leak with some RTV and nothing else.
  9. If MHKflyer52 doesn't sort it out for you, check McMaster. i think i saw the corresponding hinge (door part) substitute while browsing their catalog.

    Hot Feet

if you haven't already seen it, his thread may be worth a look: http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2612&highlight=footwell+heat&page=2 cheers
  11. Hmmm. Maybe I should move my parking break to this more historically accurate position!
  12. can you post a picture of the "new and improved" filler? I replaced by stock birkin fuel cap with an aero cap from Newton. The newton cap is much easier to fill but still requires nozzle gymnastics. My experience is the fuel nozzle is often too horizontally oriented, and does not extend far enough into the fuel filler - compared to regular cars. I thought about cutting back the bottom flange on my filler cap to increase the filler nozzle angle. Fortunately i found a local gas station with pumps that reach into my car and don't require gymnastics to fill up.
  13. mike If you pull the engine to look at the clutch, make sure the clutch plate is installed in the correct direction. As i recall, if the clutch plate is installed backwards (which could otherwise be forwards) there is interference with the flywheel. I suspect i've got the same clutch and gear box as you in my birkin and am currently over 7K street miles without any clutch issues (yet). my sympathies for your unintended build. Paul.
  14. His other creations are even more entertaining
  15. Looks great Jason, now you just need some road dirt - you should check in with budlite. As i understand he's got the necessary bumpers and inspection bits...

    Mud flaps

I attached a pair of stainless BigHeads fasteners to the inside of my fender using epoxy. The universal rubber mud flaps I picked up at the parts store are disappointingly flexible. To keep busy I cut and attached 1/8" lexan to test out flap shape and length. These prototypes are proving more flexible than I’d anticipated and may just work well. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for the salt to be washed off the roads to test these. cheers
  20. You are in quite the enviable position. However, unless you come home and make a deposit on the car it’s still tied for a se7ens tour of Cincy.

    Mud flaps

I'm installing a pair of front mud flaps to cut down on debris and dirt. (Ok, I'm just lazy and getting tired of having to clean my car every week). I've tracked down some bigheads fastenèrs for mounting, but would like to know what others have used for flaps? What works for you? And more importantly what hasn't worked? Cheers
  22. I'm an old Jersey boy in exhile: so i can't speak from experience but definitely recommend looking into registration legalities if you plan to drive on the street. As i understand it registration in NJ has become more complicated in recent years and may need to be considered as well.
  23. Josh. Search the archives for all the sage advice previously written. Be forewarned, my biggest mistake was riding in a se7en: it has been down hill from there with no regrets. I almost bought one the next week but held out another month for a wide track kit from Dick. PM me for details or if you go with a Birkin. Also check your state regs depending on your intended use. Cheers

    Registration

A friend astutely pointed out that I need to find an older/veteran employee: Someone jaded enough not to care too much. Not a young/new employee trying to doing everything by the book. Not a few year veteran who is still concerned about being disciplined or bucking for promotion. It is also important to not get someone who's not having a rotten day. piece of cake...

    Registration

Can anyone comment from experience on the receptiveness of NH & ME (and possibly MA/VT) to registering a Seven? I have the opportunity of moving to NH or ME and am not sure how heavily to weigh my birkin mistress in deciding where to live. cheers
