  1. You guys wake up too early! - it's only 10am..
  2. I remember them once mentioning a lotus 7 to a caller looking for a bare-bones car. you can all guess the manner in which they recommended the se7en. Their description was spot on: down to the detail that "we've all got the same screw loose" as has been said before on this forum.

  4. :iagree: Brilliant ! reminds me of the origins of the "storker" taking life too seriously I bet your assistants had a good time too.
  5. Is this a new way to add lightness?
  6. Randy PM'd you about the turn signal lights Thanks paul
  7. This thread is beginning to remind me of this classic picture:
  8. If you're doing the unconventional, go all out: can you lift the car into the truck with a sling? Just like putting a sailboat onto a trailer.
  9. I had to replace mine with one from McMaster. http://www.mcmaster.com/#vibration-damping-sandwich-mounts/=ubpycy ended up being 8$ for two and shipping.
  10. Crock my mistake.. it was late at night but I should have realized you and Steve are more interested in Hammond's taupe pensioner-mobile for your next car. :puke:
  11. Blokko - It can be done, please don't give up hope. Chris at sevens&elans may be a good resource - as well as Crock trolling the 4am classified's. While you are here you could quietly slip into a nice tight fitting Birkin or Westfield. Or... Go over to the dark side and get a stalker. The two I've seen we're some of the best sorted se7ens. both driven by exceptional gentlemen.
  12. Until someone with more tricks up their sleeve chimes in.. Does the cat have an access hole in the footwell? my birkin has a 1" hole in the footwell that can be accessed by removing of the pedal box top or via the "inverted driver" position if you're limber. this should at least allow you to see the plug. How do you feel about removing the engine/gear box? I find stuck/stripped bolts to be one of the most frustrating things. The thought of trying to work on my drain plug in situ is bonkers! Consequently I worry it may be necessary to remove the gear box to allow proper access and working room if it truly is stripped. Just think of this as a good way to become intimately acquainted with your seven (pun intended). IIRC there are other threads with advice for engine/trans removal: I find that lowering my engine/gear box assembly onto a dolly is the easiest method (and prevents oil leaking out the back end). good luck!
  13. There was a nice little write up in the local paper of a vintage Caterham. Does anyone know if Aiden is on this forum? He may just be on BlatChat, but seeing as there are so few of us and i think Blokko is new to the Boston area I thought i'd ask... more here Cheers P. Small package, lots of super.pdf

  15. I think "retail" for a new kit is more.....
  16. Welcome aboard Jesse If you haven't already, take a look at Crock's thread of used cars: there are lots of options out there. There is at least one other car in ME (near Bangor I think) so you're not alone. As to the debate, there isn't much controversy: any se7en is the best car. cheers
  17. Glad you're ok.... If you were towed (even flat bed) make sure your frame was not racked/distorted.
  18. I think there is a low pressure switch out there (possibly VW) that activates at 30 instead of 60??? PSI. I believe this is a "take yours to the parts store and sort through their big book" situation. let us know how you make out.
  19. "Obedience training"?? Brings to mind that old joke about the foul mouthed talking parrot and a freezer
  20. And you've got a lotus badge on the Stalker. What has Suave been up to? cheers p.
  21. maybe, but you must concede a bright & shiny se7en is beautiful. Especially if you aren't the one who had to polish it
  22. 1104mi per the web page. It always surprises me how low the mileage is on some of these cars. I know many of us here do 2-3x that each summer. p.
  23. you should try contacting Quantum Mechanics in Connecticut. 203-463-8299 (from their interweb page) I don't have any personal experience but am led to believe they are the experts for all that ails our gear boxes. good luck P. ps. these may (or probably won't) help you. - sorry, it's too large to post: edit. edit.. edit... edit.... edit..... edit...... finally sorted it... look under "Type 9-N Gearbox pdf" http://www.topdocsracing.com/pdf-links ford_cases.pdf
  24. Does anyone know what paint code# he used? it looks brilliant with polished ali. p.
  25. If you're planing to register it make sure your state inspection doesn't require one.
