  1. Martin, Congradulations on 'pulling the trigger'! Sevens are like the Hotel California . . . you can check out, but you can never leave; once a Seven owner, always a Seven enthusiast. :seeya: :auto:
  2. Pictures! Details! :lurk:
  3. Yeap!
  4. Robert, Welcome to the club. These cars are some of the most fun you can ever have behind the wheel of an automobile. And you will enjoy making changes/improvements to make it your own. I don't know what's going on with the hood, but I sure do like it; looks like the exhaust from a P-51. Shane :seeya:
  5. I was driving me arse off! :driving:
  6. Track configuration for the day was the 1.7 mi course, run ccw. There are four passing zones and no really long straights; perfect track for a Seven. My top speed for the day was in the neighborhood of 135mph, just prior to entering turn 2. The photo below depicts the track layout with the passing zones highlighted. All the turns are numbered in relation to the 3.1 mi setup. The 1.7 mi course was the original track for Cresson; all turns have good ole’ Western names. Also, here’s the link for MSR Cresson.
  7. Track day at MSR Cresson with Apex Driving Academy, 06/01/13. Session 6 of 6.
  8. I've been there, not in a Seven, but in a Toyota Tacoma I used to own. I had just left from having my tires and wheels 'professionally' balanced and rotated (came with the purchase of the new tires). By the time I stopped, I was literally one thread away from losing the wheel. :svengo:
  9. Just received a response: three photos dating back to 2004 (nine years old) same car info as posted on the link.
  10. I requested photos (hopefully, current :ack:) and info, but haven't received a response as of today.
  11. I want one.
  12. Ah, yeah . . . good luck with that. The only thing that's constant in life is change . . . especially in the life of folks who are passionate about their cars. She's a real beauty, Gale.
  13. Mike Bearden, who lives a two-hour drive north of me just put his Birkin up for sale. It's in your price range; might want to take a look: http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=8619 X :seeya:
  14. Here’s a good thread to start with. http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=8487

  16. I'm really liking that blue and aluminum combo; looks great!
  17. John, based on his calculations using rpm, tire diameter and gearing, was hitting in excess or 170mph on the straight. I've watched some of the other videos from other cars that were running in that group (using data overlay) and the videos definitlely confirm, in my mind, the John was running at 170 plus on the straight. Here's one of those videos with the yellow Mustang hitting 176mph just prior to braking:
  18. Not great quality, but some action from the 2011 UTCC. At around 42 seconds into the video, you catch a glimpse of John Meyer's Stalker.
  19. Besides the spacer, there are a couple of other things that suggest to me that this A-arm has been removed and possibly repaired: a) The mounting hardware for the lower ball joint on the LH side is reversed in relation to the hardware on the RH side (lock nuts on top of LH A-arm vs. lock nuts on bottom of RH A-arm). While this could simply be an oversight, Brain Anderson was the original builder, and Brian, as methodical as he is, would have most likely assembled the A-arms side-by-side (at the same time), the same way. b) The LH A-arm paint/powder coat has a dull sheen vs. the RH A-arm is reflective (perhaps a clear coat). This difference may be due to shadowing, lighting, etc., but worth a look. 'If' the A-arm/shock mount has been damaged, the best course of action might be to simply replace the A-arm. Loren Edwards (aka, WestTexasS2K) should be able to help you out with a replacement. X
  20. Any chance the weld joints on the shock mounting brackets (tabs) could have fractured and broken at some point in time resulting in a repair that left the tabs welded off-center? There seems to be more of a gap between the mounting tabs on the LH side than on the RH side (notice the spacer used on the LH side and no spacer on the RH side) . . . Just a thought.
  21. Bonjo2, You are correct: SR 15x10 along with Avon tires 10.7 x 21.5 x 15 (A11 compound). I picked up the tires from Roger Kraus Racing: http://www.rogerkrausracing.com/ (510) 582-5031 If you call, ask for Roger personally. X
  22. The cover looks great! Getting ready to get one done for my car. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Hopefully . . . any DMV guy or gal reading these forums are true 'car' guys and gals . . . hopefully. :ack:
  24. Might consider Arkansas; no inspections required. X
