  1. I spent all detailing my car for the Sunday in the Park Concours. I'm in Class 25 (whatever that is). I found rubber marbles in all kinds of places, it has never looked so good. I hope the judges like it as much as I do. :driving:
  2. My Rial wheel were powder coated by Mog-Racing, no issues either.
  3. Exactly two years ago, my build was nearly three months between getting the crates delivered to Caterham USA to having the car delivered to me. (there were several builds in process at that time) I found that calling three times a day to guide Ben through the process (yes I was excited) and to add on additional upgrades helped me feel better. I was like a kid on Christmas Eve. To fill your time between now and delivery, I recommend starting the upgrade orders now!!! Karl
  4. Looks great, good luck with the build!
  5. Great job, looks like you have an employment skill backup!
  6. In case anyone is interested, Lime Rock is hosting "A Semi-Private Hour with Sir Sterling Moss" Saturday September 1, 2012. Tickets are $25 and going fast!

  8. Wish I could make it. I'll be at Watkins Glen with NASA
  9. is it the RST V8? http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/43005000/jpg/_43005865_8.jpg
  10. Croc, Look what I found! http://www.reverie.ltd.uk/product_detail.php?search=caterham&part_code=M02SB0010
  11. I'm no expert, but I used a switched lead on the ignition switch.
  12. Cosworth made a blower for the Miata duratec. I heard it was taken off the market due to reliability issues.
  13. PM sent on the indicator lenses and bezels
  14. I've got a Sadev sequential gearbox. Love it on the track, just tolerable on the street. Only balks at speeds under 20 mph, but you can learn to manage it on the street. It's not horribly loud and has reverse. My setup uses a "flatshifter" that cuts power momentarily so that you don't need to lift when upshifting. It's a tough call, really depends on personal preferences. Karl
  15. I had the same issue and ordered two from Caterham UK. I have since switched to a fuel cell and have no use for the extra gasket I ordered. Send me a PM with your address and I will toss it in the mail to you. Karl
  16. I ended up getting them to fit. See the photos above.
  17. Ben told me to start with a small pilot hole in what i thought was the right place. Then run a string between the mounting points and see which direction to enlarge the hole. Karl
  18. August 31 – September 3, 2012, Historic Festival 30 & Sunday in the Park Concours On Labor Day weekend, Lime Rock Park puts on great vintage car races and show. The Historical Festival includes vintage races on Saturday and Monday, with a super cool car show on Sunday. If anyone wants to join us, we are camping and plan on putting out a spread on Saturday afternoon. I have reserved an RV site (just need to convince the gate that my trailer is really an RV in disguise) overlooking the back straight. There is a Lotus specific Car Corral on Saturday for parking with the Lotus owners. There is also camping if you want to stay over and enjoy the festivities in style! The Sunday show also includes the “Gathering of the Marques,” which is literally hundreds of cars lining the rest of the track, grouped by make, model or country of origin. You’ll see huge displays of Shelbys and BMWs and Corvettes and Jaguars and MGs! Astons, Rolls and Lotuses (and perhaps an Orange Caterham)! Porsches, Peugeots and Panteras! Volvos and Saabs, Minis, Mercurys, Mercedes and Mopars! Ferraris, Fiats and Lambos! If you’re interested in joining the Gathering of the Marques display, simply arrive Sunday morning, September 2, with your Sunday Admission Ticket (purchased in advance or at the gate) and you will be directed to park with the appropriate group. This year's Honored Guest will be Sir Stirling Moss... No other venue in the U.S. has three days of on-track racing sandwiching a prestigious concours event – all on the same property. Since 1983, the East Coast’s premier vintage racing event has been the Historic Festival and its companion “Sunday in the Park Concours” (Sept. 2). With its famous free paddock access for all fans, Historic Festival 30 will be a feast for the senses: More than 300 vintage race cars will fill the grounds, Sir Stirling will be here for you to visit with, the Swap Meet in the Sunoco B Paddock will be packed, the Midway is always alive with activities – and the racing on the track is non-stop from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Monday. Also, there will be a very exciting Formula 1 Race Group on Saturday and Monday, thanks to Historic Grand Prix (HGP), the finest vintage racing organization for 1966 - 1983 F1 machinery. Historic Festival 30... There’s nothing like it anywhere else.
  19. NASA is like SCDA but with a couple of races worked in and fairly relaxed. Racing is like SCCA with fewer rules. About the same amount of track time from my experience. No umbrella girls though...
  20. Did I mention that they had umbrella girls at their Lime Rock event on Memorial Day?
  21. Independent Motorsports Group is running a two day event at Lightning July 14/15. I'll be there working on my corner entry speeds! The event registration looks like it won't be crowded and one could end up with lots of clear track time. Here is the link: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/74AA5FA0-C324-949F-0AC55F0580BB4599 Karl IMG is a fun group with all kinds of cars, including open wheel cars. There will be racing, time trials and HPDE. http://imgracing.com/Gallery/Albums/2012/2012-05-28/2012-05-28%20-%20222%20-%20IMG_2261.jpg http://imgracing.com/Gallery/Albums/2012/2012-05-28/2012-05-28%20-%20228%20-%20IMG_2803.jpg
  22. will this be your track car?
  23. That is true, maybe one will fall off a F1 car someday soon!
  24. Steve, We missed you at the track, wish you had made it. I do love the cage, it was made by Caged, the same people that make Caterham roll cages and chassis. Karl
  25. mog-racing.com sells new and used Michelin slicks that I quite like. Shipping from Germany is not as bad as you think. They come from Formula BMW and Renault cars.
