  1. the info of the event has been posted over to the SCCA D/E mod yahoo group a few days ago. hopefully there will be some more entries next year. a 13"slick normally runs an inch smaller outside diameter than a 15" street or R comp tyre. 22 vs 23 inches.
  2. video of three runs youtube just kills my quality. gotta try google vids and ask Jeff U if hosting it personally is worth it.
  3. there were no cones stuck under the exhaust nor any timing equipment. i can only hope to have that driving ability some day. till then i have my lucky hat!
  4. "LOTUS SUPER 7 SERIES 3 Clone. Mada rotary drivtrain, cage legal for level 4 TT, very reliable, $11,000. email cburros@hiwaay.net for pictures and detailed specs or call Jim (256) 837-2007"
  5. and i don't see that much of difference between how much a 7 will be on a cruise and the 340r. though i don't know if a 340r can be plated in the USA. back on topic. if u want to get more utility out of the caterham, u will need to weatherize. the full weather gear( hood, sticks, and side screens). doesn't even appear to have a tonneau either. and i can tell u that those tyres suck. SUCK there's not even a center mirror. u can have my old one if i still have it. that thing will have to be shipped to you. without the weather gear, u'd be hard pressed to go coast to coast. u'd lose points in mine and Cherick's book. it does have the alloy fller cap, nice ignition wire cover. and don't worry clams are fine. u just may want to eventually mod them to what Norm beaver has done to reduce lift. i stand by first post. find me next weekend.
  6. GL, not sure i like members bidding on the same car auction though.
  7. clean dash installation in a Locost? That would be a clean installation in a caterham.
  8. also depends on which zetec engine. i have been told that my electromotive Tec3 will not be com patible withe the SVT zetec variable intake setup as opposed to my lesser zx2 zetec. toss into the list Element Tuning's Hydra, but that becomes very powerful if going forced induction. excellent O2 sensor and water injection tuning abilities.
  9. you mean whats sits in the garage isn't?
  10. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=330177296106 u should consider this instead:hurray: u better call about that 7. i beleive its missing alot of what u require. u may be spending another 3-10k for the car to do what u want.
  11. an r34 rolled into our tuesday night earlier tonight. we we're talking about getting another one into the USA. its not easy anymore, and it was never easy. the last 2 people who worked as importers fled the country. one to Peru, and the other to europe iirc. all r33s are illegal, and technically all plated r32s and r34s can get impounded by both locals and feds on a whim despite several crash tests that have not been invalidated as of yet. easiest way is just to get one of the ones already registered. now, if u had dealer plates, there's a little gray area you can play with. my friend may get his ex-gf's car in the country that way.
  12. if u start from the USA7s main page which displays all the subforums, u can quickly see where the recent activity is since u last came to the site. i find it quite navigatable. it is different than a usegroup or older bbs setup, but i am also used to quickly scanning thru site sthas have well over 20 sub forums, and sub forums of sub forums.
  13. did u use the zz3's?
  14. hello to u 2. telling someone about se7en doesn't work. u just look wacky. se7ens have to be seen and sat in and driven. While the same, they are different, and while different, they are the same. what state is newburgh in? if ur in NY, come down and meet me and my SV at either of next weekends autoXs at Nassau Colesium. even among caterhams there are significant differences. just as witnessed with the 3 7s at the Philly SCCA this past saturday. spend ur time reading and researching over this winter and then begin a half hearted search before u regret spending any money.
  15. catch a buzz 19th hole. i can enjoy anything. why do u think lawnmowers are easier to attach cupholders to than se7ens.
  16. u better beleive the media efforts our club officers had a huge hand in the membership due to teh recent publications.
  17. absolutely true on all counts Tom. mazda and i are SOOOOOO coming back with R-comps next season. going over i see i'm losing close to second by screwing up the braking point on the bottom of teh figure 8/long straight away. ahd been able to talk Norm into 'instructing' he would have been able to point that out me immediately. awesome work alround. I can't wait for another multiple se7en autoX next season. maybe people will even let drive their se7en. except Mazda. i don't need to drive franken7. maybe be driven in it again, but mada would have to put a set of pedals in teh passengers side like a driver's ed car for me to consider touching the pedals/steering wheel.:willy: Al, the course is out there. u don't have to drive like I do. in fact, i'm sure the Philly region would prefer if u did not:rofl: but a wall is expensive. i'm not sure what i would do in mark Rivera's position this year. the good thing about autoX is that there are tangible goals, even on a personal level, because of the PAX crutch. and roads for spirited drive few and far between. those are good reasons why u'll find Tom and myself, OK, myself killing cones. dude, just get Sam Strano to co-drive for a day. if what Tom was telling me how the rest of teh region salivates at his 7, he'll probably jump at the chance to drive. Our cars make us new friends so quickly. isn't that what sevengalism is all about;)
  18. my best run i beleive.
  19. PS. before teh official times get posted, i beleive one of the FM drivers was down in the 36.xx in the 3rd heat. on my tape i hear the announcer say that Strano pulled a 38.0x on his last run. i believe that was FTD pax and FTD raw non Modified. i thought norm was into the 39s, did he crack into 38. it was tough paying attention to what Norm, Tom, and mazda were doing while martin and I were goofing around and getting the car set in between runs.
  20. u plan for this endeavor during summer break or will the family be seeing more than one se7en on the annual Navarro family retreat?
  21. baloney! 3 layers of clothes and a light jacket last night on the way home, plus the doors and half hood up. It was perfect! and whats the deal with Cali autoXs costing 120 bucks to participate!?!?! Martin said that and he almost had to keep a few east coasters from fainting.
  22. http://www.mohud-scca.org/
  23. i'm up finally. i'll check out my vids again now with some sleep for this weekend. ONE of my spins was with ~55 secs remaining in Tom's video. for anyone informationmy hair is called a caterham cut!
  24. ha. ha ha. ha ha ha. actually since i had fun i will laugh. does that new name fit in the froum software?:bs: afterwards, when they were able to dislodge the cone from the exhaust. 'cause they couldn't get out while i was in the middle of the finish lane:banghead: , one of the Philly scca comes over and tells me "nothing to worry about, happens all the time, they have quick disconnects on the setup". THEN everyone is getting called over to look at my masterpiece...:grouphug:
  25. got in about a half hour ago. finished unloading Snake Bit and watched the end of tonights fight. today was a blast. had lots fun. got to talk with Norm for a bit, which is far more than at ToTD. great weather for driving. both Philly and NYC skylines looked great going home tonight. It was great seeing Mazda again, got my lucky hat back, so the car suffers no damage but i take out teh finish timer :boxing: my first runs went really well. started pushing it looking for a 40.x to kep pace with Mazda. Martin did a-ok as codriver. he got to have some fun in the spin machine:jester: Norm, well, is a beast out there. So's Sam Strano and I am glad i got to see at least one of his runs. Tom drove well as well. after dinner we watched the films of runs. There deintely some huge progress this year from me, i'm very proud that its coming together, even if i do continue to spin on some runs. Tom knows he can push a little bit more. just needs a nag in the passenger seat . Tom said to me hopefully we can get another autoX meet scheduled for next year thats a bit more central. We'll see about whats in next years schedules.
