  1. Hi Ron, Hope you are well, we've missed you at our 7s Gatherings at NJMP. You were one of the original 6. Time to get back on the track with us. I've been searching the Blatchat archives as I know there was a diagram there, but it seems their archives are not working well for the older links. Here is a description that I pulled off one of the threads. It looks like it is for a toggle switch for power and then the button to start the car. Hope this helps. Tom Flip switch and starter button now installed and working a treat ! . Wiring is as follows : remove black shroud around ignition switch ( warning this is the point of no return as at cannot be refitted ), on the rear of the ignition unit are 3 male connections marked as 50 , 30 & 15 50 = Red / white wire ( Starter motor signal ) 30 = 2 brown ( Constant live ) 15 = 2 white + 1 red ( ignition on/off ) Add 2 feeds from brown wires 30 . connect ignition flip switch to wires from 15 & 30 . connect starter button to wires from 50 & 30 . reconnect battery / master switch . Flip your switch , press your button and Vrooom ! Jobs a good un ! Now the difficut bit..... where on the dash do I mount them ?? Time taken = 30 mins . Please double check your own ignition wiring before starting as it may be different ? - See more at: http://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/starter-button-jobs-good-un#sthash.7DNkNkBY.dpuf
  2. Tabor, come on up to NJMP in July and we'll get your wife out on track in the Novice run group. I figure that you've mellowed since Gettysburg and let her take it on track. Novice group is great, no passing, follow the pace car, and Jeff, Croc or I can instruct. Come on up. Tom
  3. You are Hard Core Michael! Stay warm. Don't shovel. Snow has started here in Philly now. Where the hell is that Damn Global Warming we've been hearing about. :troll: . Tom
  4. Take it out on the track and I bet your article will have a whole different slant. These cars are fun on the road, but they are AMAZING on the track. 180hp will only matter on the straights and that's not where the fun is. Tom
  5. Based on the cast of characters that attend the NJMP 7s gathering, I don't think there are any normal people who drive se7ens. We're all crazy. :jester: Tom
  6. Thanks, I'll get them from Ford then. I picked up an ARP crank bolt and have the Cosworth Head gasket. Hopefully I can source the cam cover gasket and front crank seal locally as well. Good luck with the rebuild. Tom
  7. Thanks, I tried calling Cosworth in Indiana today and was sent to a voice mail and got no return call. Really poor service. One Item I have to order are the valve stem oil seals, do happen to know if the stock ford items would fit? or are the seals specific to the cosworth valves? Thanks again. Tom
  8. Can you tell me where you ordered your parts from? I am getting ready to pull the head on mine to see if I can find the source of my coolant pressurization. Thanks Tom
  9. A married Irishman went into the confessional and said to his priest, 'I almost had an affair with another woman.' The priest said, 'What do you mean, almost?' The Irishman said, 'Well, we got undressed and rubbed together, but then I stopped.' The priest said, 'Rubbing is the same as putting it in. You're not to see that woman again. For your penance, say five Hail Marys and put $50 in the poor box.' The Irishman left the confessional, said his prayers, and then walked over to the poor box. He paused for a moment and then started to leave. The priest, who was watching, quickly ran over to him saying, 'I saw that. You didn't put any money in the poor box!' The Irishman replied, 'Yeah, but I rubbed the $50 on the box, and according to you, that's the same as putting it in!'
  10. I love you Skip. Tom
  11. Dean, my Orange car does have the Flappy paddles and sequential gearbox. On track it is awesome, BUT forget about it on the road. The lightweight flywheel makes starting tough, and it likes to shift when revving hard. Just poodling around the paddock is not what it likes. Plus you have to run up and down thru each gear. No shifting from 6th to neutral or 4th to 6th. But it sure is FUN on track. :driving: Tom
  12. Michael, you obviously are confused. Kitcat OWNS the infield. He usually spends more time there then on track. You just happened to catch him on a good day. If you make it up this year, I'm sure that you will witness the real Kitcat. :seeya: Tom
  13. Steve, you obviously have impeccable taste in cars and women. I hope the bruises will heal by July. :smilielol5: tom
  14. John, you are only about 100 miles or so from NJMP. If you think one se7en is fun, you will be amazed at seeing 20 or so driving together. Think about joining us at NJMP for our 6th annual 7s gathering and trackdays event. Tom
  15. Steve, I'll put you down as NUTS. We are a fun group but a 10th anniversary may need a little more sweetening of the deal to pull that off. :jester: But I do have a nice little yellow RoverK series that might bring back some fond memories. Tom
  16. Based on responses from a prior thread, the following are those who have indicated their intention/hope to attend this years gathering. I'll try to keep it updated as interest is expressed. So get those upgrades and off season maintenance items done. The more the merrier. Tom 1) Croc 2) Yellowss7 3) Kitcat 4) Michael D 5) Dave D 6) FE07 7) JBH 8) Simon W 9) RGTorque 10)Wemdt 11)TBox 56 12)Fmorser 13)Sk400
  17. Come on KitCat make your 3000 post a pithy one. :seeya:
  18. Skip you are on a roll, keep em coming! :jester: Tom
  19. Pick up the pace Shane. Only 6 months to the NJMP 7s gathering. :willy_nilly::party: Tom
  20. That's great. Anyone here remember Charlie Chinchopper?
  21. Croc's accounting skills are questionable for a Financial Executive. There were 14 Caterhams in attendance last year, plus 2 Birkins, 2 S1 Superformances, One Stalker, One WCM Ultalight, and a BEC Locost. Oh, and one Lotus Seven trailer queen. :seeya: Tom
  22. Loved the music! That first hit reminded me exactly of the 6 point Buck that ran across I95 on Saturday morning at 10am across 6 lanes of traffic, to hit my F150 flush in the front. I was doing 65MPH in the right lane getting off at the exit just ahead. Unfortunately my truck didn't just keep going like the volvo. :smash: Dead Deer, two airbags, deployed and the truck had to be towed away. I hate Deer!!! Might have to buy a Volvo truck. Tom
  23. Simple. Bomb them all and let God sort them out. :jester:
  24. Shane you know the 7s gang at NJMP loves you. That's probably the Debauchery that Seb was referring to.:willy_nilly: Bring Larry up with you this year. That should slow you down a bit. Tom:seeya:
  25. Shane is the rumor true that you are going to put in a little 2.0L 4cyl? Or is that just a rumor that your wife started?:leaving: Tom
