I'm feeling rather left out so here goes:

Assuming the radiator & nose cone I've been waiting on all year come in time :toetap05: I was planning to attend. However I'm becoming progressively more skeptical every day that i'll have my car back on the road and sorted in time to try my hand at a track day.

Worst case i'm a definite maybe spectator

Call me stupid (and plenty of people do!) but how hard can it be to get a radiator and nose cone for a Birkin? Tom Carlin should have them in stock?

MichaelD,

I'm in Potomac just beyond the village. We met........once at Summit and once with a group for a beer at a Bethesda bistro...........I'm working out the plans to make NJMP happen.

Even I have made reservations at the Fairfield. While I now have a functioning garage I am pretty sure I will not be able to stay overnight there!

Roman - I now have overnight storage for your car within a short walking distance of the pit suites at Thunderbolt.

So, the last 3 years I've stayed at the Fairfield, and it seemed like most stayed at the track. This year, I reserved a room at the track, and everyone seems to be staying at the Fairfield.

Is it something I said? :)

Steve: I will be staying at the track as well. Even though the room is overpriced for what you get, I like the proximity (and lack of driving after over-celebrating). Face it: you are a trend setter, next year everyone will be back at the track:).

Steve,

I am also staying at the track. I stayed off track on my first visit. Stayed on site the second time and have been there ever since. See you there.

Sabbot is now registered! :seeya: That makes 10 registered so far. Just 9 weeks to go! Those of you who are dragging your feet, Just make sure that you make hotel reservations as the local hotels do tend to sell out during the summer Shore vacation period as NJMP is only 35 miles from the Shore. • 2 weeks later...

Mike, Tom,

Looks like I will be coming with the whole family... eg: at a minimum my wife, and maybe the two kids and.. yes the AuPair! the Kids and AuPair will probably be with us for a few hours and then explore the area etc..

One question thought.. my wife wanted to try the car on the track for a few laps. (awesome wife right?). Do you think she'll be able to follow one of the instructors for a few laps the same way I did last yr? Do we need to do anything special or just play it by ear once we are there? thanks!

Hi Seb - Thats good you are bringing the AuPair - Tom needs supervision!

I think that is great your better half wants to try the car out. I suggest that she does not sign up now as a driver but we ask if she can try the car out in the first green session (follow the leader) when things are slowest. If she wants to do more green sessions then you can officially sign up and pay the fee. I am not sure they will like that approach but it is worth a try. Worst case is that they want the full fee before doing 1 session but they will accept sign up on the day for green group. I definitely would make sure that you have signed your wife up as a visitor and paid the fee.

Will Croc's garage be presentable? Will I have sorted out my coolant issue? Will JeffS still be the second fastest Yellow car? Will the two Orange Superformance S1's be the prettiest cars out there? Will Kitcat reclaim his Spin trophy from Roman? Did Steve M start polishing his Caterham yet? Will Stewart's BDR be driven by him or his Wife?

Will Seb have to buy another Caterham for Kelli? Will Michael D have more than 3 cylinders running this year? Will Simon and Seb know which Red Caterham is their's?

Will Suave and Xcarguy get permission to attend next year's event?

Only 8 more weeks to find out?

Still hoping that a few others will get the itch and join in on the fun. Tom

Tom - too early to start polishing. :)

I'd read about your cooling issue on Blatchat, and thought it was resolved? I'm still over-pressurizing my cooling system at the track. Have a new head gasket, and am targeting changing it next weekend.

No, Steve, not yet. I switched to a 20 psi cap on the expansion tank and although the coolant level rose, it didn't puke. It was still under pressure 2 days later when I tried to open the cap. Lifting the tank up above the head let a little drain out and then when I opened the bleed bolt on the radiator and then opened the cap on the expansion tank, it all drained back into the system. Going to try relocating the expansion tank up onto the firewall next. :smash: Three exhaust gas tests were negative and the level doesn't rise after 50 minutes of idling. Only pressurizes when I run it hard on track above 5500 rpm. Really frustrating.

Oh, sure........leave the Storker boys out of the picture. Just because my car isn't yellow, and is broke and all, doesn't mean I don't want to be there. :toetap05:
