It plainly states on the rear panel that it's "Ultralite" but when I had it corner weighted it weighed in at 1,505Lbs!! But with all the carbon that the prior owner put on it, it might be a negative number. :smilielol5: Several years back I calculated that the Space Shuttle would weigh 6 lb less if the tires were filled with Helium instead of Nitrogen. Sean Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 There is a Brit in San Diego who got his R1 engined Caterham in U.K. below 850 lbs (385 kgs), but had to sell the car when he moved to the U.S. That car was still well under 880 lbs with a half-tank of fuel. TheDingo8MyBaby Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 1963 Lotus Seven S2 - Previous Race configuration: Fuel level (cant recall), Chassis strengthening, 116E, dry sump, straight pipe exhaust, roll bar, cortina axle with steg plate, 15lb tractor battery, steel bodied shocks, kirkey seat, magnesium bellhousing and magnesium wheels = 1008 lbs Current Street configuration: Above + steel bellhousing, + aluminum wheels, + 2lb ballistic battery + aluminum body shocks (8lbs lighter) + titanium muffler + bench seat = TBD (soon!)
