Croc, did you buy this?

Croc, DirtFish Rally School is less than 20 miles from my house. Why don't you have the car shipped to me and I'll watch it for you until you can fly out and put some proper rally miles on it. I promise to exercise the RS regularly to ensure it's primed and ready for your arrival and I'll keep the Westfield at least 20' away from it at all times.

There is room in my shop for that car. I will take at least as good of care of it as John. There are several off road areas close by so the car won't feel uncared for. And Denver is a shorter flight than Seattle.

Well....

....yes it was me and it was the most fraught auction I have ever participated in. The plane was due to take off 15 minutes after the auction was supposed to end. But with the BAT 2 minute clock extension for bids within the last minutes, that safety margin was rapidly eaten up. Add to this a very slow internet and more than expected bidder interest running me up to the bid limit I set myself and I was sweating. The final comment post after winning the bid was made just as we left the runway.

It is nice to buy a bucket list car after missing out on another of my bucket list cars on BAT earlier in the week.

It will stay on tarmac - no dirt. I have known about this car and watched out for it since 2011. It truly is a labor of love for the builder and former owner and has to be studied to appreciate the effort that went into it. For that reason I could never trust Xcarguy to drive it as it would likely end up airborne. Yellowss7 would never go fast enough to get heat into the tires.

It will need one very specific important job attended to before I can drive it "enthusiastically" but that should not take long. Expect to see it on track on Wednesday July 4th at NJMP at the test day, hopefully with the newly re-engined Group 4 BMW CSL and Group A Holden.

Love the race Ford's my first real performance car was a Twin Cam Escort, big wing. Loved that car, always on the lookout for another one. Also have a Triumph TR8, remember when they first came out, drove to the British rally at Bristol. just to see it's debut. Tony Ponds wrapped it around a tree on the first stage!.
