I support them doing limited specials. Builds excitement for the brand and "halo" models off sorts.

I would LOVE for them to actually commit to James May Grand Tour offroader Nomad version

200+ HP. Just 1,100 LBS. | 2003 Caterham Superlight R300

Number of questions about this car but its certainly pretty good looking and a good build.

@Croc Correct me if I'm wrong but thats not an FIA bar without a petty bar or cross bracing?

Pretty sure its a US SLR as he even calls it in the video but R300 label is strange

You forgot to mention it’s for sale on BAT, what you posted is their excellent sales video….

Croc has had this car up for a couple weeks but link was for the Hemmings' listing which had no price and a notice that it was coming to auction.

You are correct it is now live on BaT:

I have a crossbrace on my roll bar that was described as an FIA/

The salesman in the video needs someone to teach him how to put a harness on.  That buckle is WAY too high.

No not FIA. Thats your standard base roll bar.

Maybe 25+ years ago, a Caterham would be  considered to have FIA compliant rollover protection if it had a rear bar bar with the diagonal bars plus the petty strut mounted to a chassis point in the passenger footwell.

Then they went to full roll cage with an FIA date sticker on it - maybe around second half of the 90s - I am fuzzy on when that was .  Not all the cages on the Caterham website today are FIA despite being a roll cage.  It needs to have the FIA sticker.   Barney the purple monster has one but I am not near it to post a photo right now.

This car would not have complied with FIA rules unless you go back 50 years ago.

Anyone know when or where this tinted aeroscreen was offered? I don't really see the need to look through it but it's kinda cool and I've never seen it before.

Just as a side note, his hat is still still missing since the last 7 they made a video for... very relatable.
