yellowss7 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 What a great day!!! Sunny, 74 degrees, no humidity. Took the Caterham out for a nice Blat for just under two hours, only came home because the tank was on empty. Bikes and Convertables were the predominate traffic. Hope alot of you also got the opportunity to exercise your 7's today. If not, tommorrow looks just as nice here in the Northeast. Tom:cheers:
MightyMike Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I'm getting ready to drive to Sedalia in a few minutes. Beautiful day here in Colorado.
S1Steve Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I Did !!!! Valley Forge Park in the a.m. with my wife, on the way home we stopped for rolls and beer, Yea, a case of Stella fits. Got home and gave the S1 a bath, then we took another ride to the Library. Got some gas, Good Day !!! Happy Holiday, Steve
slngsht Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 took Frankn7 out for about 20 minutes today. Too much going on...
KiwiBirkin Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I'm getting ready to drive to Sedalia in a few minutes. Beautiful day here in Colorado. Thats great new Mike as it means you have recoverd from your injury
slomove Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Entire frond end stripped to the bones, so no blatting :cuss: But is was anyway 103 degrees yesterday 90's today, so wrenching makes more sense (except that I am doing the wrenching in the driveway...) Yesterday, I sanded and primer painted the chassis tubes, today and tomorrow the steering rack will go back in with the new widetrack suspension, next weekend radiator and Laminova with oil plumbing, another weekend caliper rebuild, headlight brackets and other small stuff and I should be back on the road in no time
MightyMike Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Thats great new Mike as it means you have recoverd from your injury  Recovered enough to drive my Birkin! Also drove my Elise. Probably will not be mountain biking for a while though. I still need a CT scan to determine if the vertebra has properly calcified before being able to come out of the back brace.
MightyMike Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Oh, I forgot to mention, I drove by another Seven at Palmer Lake! Red and aluminum I think (I'm very color blind). I had an awesome drive.
Automoda Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Perfect day here in UT. I took a little trip to lunch and the hardware store. I'm putting together a tool kit for the 7. Only 20 miles though. I have the urge to go out again...
MHKflyer52 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Not today, but yesterday as I finially installed the skid pan on my 7 so I do not take out another oil pan like I did last Labor Day on the blat that one of the groups that I belong to do every year. Here are a couple of photos taken while up on the lift at my friends place.
scannon Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Took a two hour blat this afternoon around the area. Temp was 95F but still comfortable for me, I'm kind of a heat lizard. I was out after dark last night in the BlatCat (new name for my Se7en) with temps in the low 80s and had to wear a wind breaker and gloves to be comfortable. I've put about 500 miles on the car in the last week including 80+ on the local kart track. The odometer turned over 7777 miles while on the track but I didn't have the camera with me to record the event.
Dave W Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Was out for almost three hours. Left a little after 8:00AM and 48* outside, return just before 11:00 and it was up to 61* out. Had the heater going the whole way. Very little traffic and sunny. When I got back I had to take the nose off and clean the dead sparrow out of the grill and rad. Dave W
solder_guy Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I got out and 'round about the tree lined neighborhoods today for about 45 minutes ..
BusaNostra Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I think we should use the word cruising and hood instead of blating and bonnet. We are USA7 right?
scannon Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I think we should use the word cruising and hood instead of blating and bonnet. We are USA7 right? You cruise and I'll blat, it's all good.
BrunnyS1 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I guess "Cruise" is cool ( tho a bit gay) for a 57 Chevy, but "BLAT" is spot on for a 7 anywhere on the planet.
pi7ot Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I envy anyone who's able to cruise in a 7. I can't. I just can't. :driving: Two reasons. 1, The 7 won't let me, ie, I have to change my "face" when using the 7 as opposed to a tintop. 2, The crowding gawkers who fixate on the machine and forget that they need to control their own machines and put away their cellphone cameras, and who tend to steer into as their hands follow their eyes. :cooldude: m
Boxologist Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 drive to autoX, then an evening drive to a friend's house and then back home late. nearly all highwat miles, so not what a blat should be to me.
Kitcat Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Four days, 4 short blats. Like MI, OH is having stellar weather, low 60's-upper 70's. It is supposed to be hot/humid/oppressive. My Crossflow engine only blats, it knows not of this cruise concept:). Mike
twobone Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Went for a blat, dropped by a friend who is rather large, managed to stuff him into the passenger seat for a quick spin around the neighborhood. Created another 7 fanatic!
