Kiwi - Did I miss something but I thought you had a repaint recently to that really nice deep blue/purple?

Clearly no Californian or Florida resident needs to chime in here - they have no winter that the rest of us have to deal with! I am just a jealous north easter... :p

1) Rent U-Haul or equivalent

2) Move to California or Florida.

Invistigate the lack of low and mid range power and late V-tec onset / or replace the ECU if I have to but would rather stay stock Honda if I can make it work.

Recarpet the floor as my heels have created a hole. Add a leather /rubber "heel pad" at the wear point.

Reinforce the front and fab a center mount brace for the dif. Replace the grade 5 bolts with grade 8's.

Relocate the fuel cell all the way to the passenger side and add an access port to the rear cover so you can re-fuel without unsnapping the whole thing.

QUIET the harness mounting points. Sounds like Santa is coming with all that jingeling.

Maybe even put an inch more lift under the passenger seat so my wife can actually see whats ahead of us.

Bigger better center mirror or just better mirrors all around.

About a dozen minor tweaks I won't bother to bore everyone with.

Happy Holidays to everyone and I hope Santa brings you all the parts you want, or at least the ones you need.

No Croc you didnt miss anything but since the paint job I have covered about 15000km and by the time it gets too winter the car will have another 10000km's on it and those KMs will have taken there toll on the paint job as we get a lot of stones on our NZ roads because they use chip seal and not tarmac as a road surface. It will be redone in the same colours though.

I am in awe...given it is like dog years, that mileage in a Seven is extraordinary.

As for the chip seal, I remember that road "surfacing" growing up in Australia. It was like having a gravel road for months until all the chips had worn away. Noisy stuff too.

KiwiBirkin,

That is like 9321 miles for 15000km. :driving:

You must be driving all over the South Island in your 7. :auto:

That is more seat time than I have put in my car in the last 5 years.

Way to go.

I have a number of smaller projects to do.

1. FIA roll-bar. I have this in already, did it a couple of weeks ago.

2. Third brake light for said roll-bar

3. Wide-track kit installation (already have parts)

4. Head rests that work with the FIA bar in an S3 chassis

5. New shock/spring set

6. Possible power boost for my Zetec (convert to fuel injection?)

7. Locate 13" wheels for track days.

  • 1 month later...

Just finished one of the winter projects, skid plate for my Ultralite, thought I'd share my farmer welding and plate steel 15.5 lb concoction. I have all of 3.5 inches clearance with me in it.

Looks great! It is skid plate so sheer beauty isn't essential tho I'd say your workmanship was stellar.

Show us another picture in a year and well see if it has acquired any "patina".

FWIW, my se7en has abt 3 1/2" clearance too. Never had a problem running w/o a skid plate in 26K miles, tho do have a haunting vision of Martin's badly damaged oil pan in the back of my mind.
