Mike - love the aeroscreen. Question, should there be a clamp on the hose for the dry sump tank. For that matter, is it really only one hose leading to that apollo tank?

Curious on the hose leading to the catch can. It says 'car heater' on it. Is it a cooling hose or is it also rated for oil? +1 on the hose clamp. Better safe than sorry.

Jon and Jude - Thanks for the comments. What you are seeing is not the dry sump swirl tank but the oil catch tank for excess oil blown off. The dry sump tank is not shown in the picture. There is only one hose leading in to the catch tank as it just collects and the vapors vent through the 3 small holes at the top.

The hose is rated for oil/fuel/water. I was not going to let myself make the same mistake again!

As for the hose clamp, I found it does not need it. The standard Caterham fitting is a heater hose shoved in a hole "burned" into the side of a washer bottle. The hose never comes out of that bodged solution by Caterham, yet it had no secure connection. There is a lot of oil being blown around from the end of the hose but not a lot of pressure as the catch tank vents the air.

Mike, does this mean you are "Cat-less" (operational in US)?

How does that work?

Cheers!

Oh no  I have Cat.  Specifically something that is actively trying to kill me.

Not sure which year Bruce is planning to test the CSR in July….

Someone needs to update their signature :)

I kinda liked @Croc with an older car with questionable tires and transmission. That somewhat leveled the playing field.

consider this my standing point-by for you on our next outing.

Transmission was replaced last year so thats ok.  It never had questionable tires - they were always good.  I put myself into a coma with questionable tires back in the 90s - never again - learned that lesson.

Simon and I did 1min21.3 on Thunderbolt yesterday playing tag - me driving the Kato.

So I am only 9sec off the pace. (An eternity). Devils pass?   Maybe the slicks will help me, likely not 9 secs

Packing up all the kit to go with my CSR to the new owner.

CSRs went through three iterations so most of this kit will not fit the later or earlier CSR model. Plus my later one has been upgraded for the higher hp.

Everything laid out on top of the Mustang or next to it.

I know I am relatively new to the group. But it will be strange to not see @Croc in the grey csr.  Now just a purple streak going by.

Wow, it has got to be a tough day for Croc! Saying good by to the CSR. The buyer is getting one heck of a car and spares, etc. Can we expect to see the buyer at NJMP in October?

Mike you mention CSR - three iterations...are the differences reviewed / summarized anywhere?  That would be very informative for the new CSR 200 / 260 talk group.

Cheers!

That’s been done elsewhere on this site over the years.  Simple search would discover it.  I don’t have time these days to do it multiple times sorry.  Anyway, some people prefer to learn the hard way 😛

No - new owner will likely not make the trip to NJ.  He’s a busy guy.
