I really hope that things settle down so I can spend some time & $$ on the car in 2013... couldn't do much this last year.

Simple stuff- tires, new heim-joints, brakes balanced & car corner-weighed

More track time- live too close to ButtonWillow & WillowSprings not to do 2 or 3

Get Lucky - full cage & top for shade

Your plans?

For my 7 I resolve to build her a new engine. One with forged internals and slightly lower compression ratio so I can ramp up the boost for a few more ponies (say 50 - 75 more).

A fresh set of R compound tires are also in the plan for summer.

Who knows, I might even get my 5/8 scale Seven delivered in 2013 from the builder, its only a year late now. :D

Get a tonneau cover fitted, make a new transmission cover and fit new higher rate rear springs. Maybe a new set of Dunlap R5 cross ply vintage racing tires. If everything falls into place a new dashboard with a full set of correct instruments & switchgear but I'm afraid that will have to wait another year. I need a set of hubcaps made but that may have to wait for a more wealthy owner.

Fix wonky front wheel, fix leaking diff and axle bearings, clean and match injectors, make a new oil separator that actually fits. The wheel and injectors would have been done last winter, but it didnt snow so the car was never in a 'down state'

This year I am aiming to finish the project. That includes getting it complete, and road legal. I am twitching for my first Se7en drive.

Number 1 on the list is to get my '62 Elite on the road, and soon, for the 2013 California Mille.

Number 2...exercise the Lotus 7 more, and no, I'm not masochist enough to take it on the Mille! (I also value my 46 years of marriage enough to know she is NOT going to buy into that excursion in the Seven!)

Number 3..which could/should be Number 1...lose a bit of weight so I can:

a) continue to fit into the Seven

b) not be such a weight penalty when I do

Other than that, I'm going to enjoy life and a well-clipped apex!

Happy New Year to one and all...

Hank

That's why I'm going to bet stiffer rear springs.

Drive the S1 more !!!! Should be a bit faster now that I added lightness to myself...

It really is an option for many of us that is overlooked.

Not my wife.

Last year I had pretty significant a case of the flu and dropped 12 pounds over the course of a week. I was whining about it after I was on the mend and she pointed out that it was likely the most cost-effective performance improvement that I would ever make to my cars!

So I've managed to keep the weight off through the past year and am going to try to drop another 10 lbs this year.

All in the name of adding lightness.

My resolution is to finish my Seven and take it on my Angeles Forest/Crest motorcycle riding loop. I sat in the car last night and made engine noises for motivation. I can't wait to get it on the road.
