Continuing the Colonoscopy hijack (which is wrong on so many levels...), if you haven't heard the colorectal surgeon song, it's worth a few minutes.

s2K7,

Your dream is deserving of a photo of just exactly how others in your run group would more than likely see you . . . :jester:

You can go even smaller still with the RST-V8... 2.4L

I bet you could get some pretty high rpms with that engine.

What kind of V8 belongs in a Seven? Why a Cosworth DFV of course :)

A Caterham CSR chassis with a Cossie DFV wedged in, ah the stuff dreams are made of. Well that, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson, and a gallon of Wesson oil. :)

The Cosworth DFV would be a great choice but it looks like your image is a Coventry Climax powered Lotus 25. That would be an interesting choice as well but only 1.5 liters!

I thought my 3.5 V8 is the smallest one but Hartley is only 2.8

Not by a long shot, Ferrari made plenty of 2.0 308s, Lambo 2.5 Urracos, 2.6 Alfa Montreal, 2.6 Toyota Century, Ferrari 308 and Lancia Thema 2.9 (shared but not internally identical engine), BMW 730 3.0, 3.0 Toyota Century.

Even the Ford 3.4 Yamaha SHO.

Those are the ones you can generally get your hands on and are desireable in one way or another, but theres quite a number of others such as a Tatra 2.5 air cooled.

Yeah, my bad. The pic was supposed to be a Lotus 33, but you are right, Climax.

This is better,

Now what kind of tranny would fit behind that in a Seven? Hmmm

A friend of mine has one of those - complete - sitting in his shop. Beautiful engine but it's a big lump.

Cheapracer --

Don't forget the engine in the Daimler SP250 sports car (1959-64). It was a 2.5 liter V-8 Hemi, a jewel of a mill in a catfish-mouthed, bottom-feeder, fairly awful "styled" fiberglas body.

I'm sure the SP250 engine is not readily available today, but it should be listed in any compilation of small V-8's.

(Can you imagine the looks of surprise when you tell people that your Seven has a Hemi??)
