I am bored in an airport waiting for my flight which inevitably has been delayed for 4 hours. With any luck I will experience the new higher levels of customer experience offered by United and then I can sue them for squillions and retire.

However, knowing my luck I get to enjoy German airport food....sigh....

TurboWood : I hope I never come to a situation where I find justification in selling a project I spent >1500hrs on and subsequently barely used.

Some silly people claim that there are cures for addictions (mostly spouses). Me, I don't care to go for the treatments. She who rules was a bit miffed about the time I watched the Gran Prix this morning, but I pointed out that her N Y Times could be enjoyed for the same amount of time, so alls good again. Putting up with my goofy cars for 20+ years counts for a lot. However, she says that the Birkin is not usable enough, so I should get another, more practical roadster. If my wife wants me to have two sports cars, who am I to argue?

When I was looking for a 7, someone asked me this question. "What do you like more, building or driving?"

So I bought a previously built/owned 7.

This next ad is in Canada. While the seller is enthusiastic and the seven looks great, I would not want to buy it and import it to the US while arguing it is over 25 years old and import restriction free since it says 1986 Toyota Corolla on some piece of paper when some doofus customs chick at the border will know it is anything but when she does her visual inspection. It would fail every US car import process I have been through and I have done a few.

Weight is before engine and gearbox, seat, tail shaft, harnesses, fluids, etc. so once you add that in then we are back to the regular expected weight.

It definitely looks like a CMC from the photos. No idea how many they made but they seem to pop up with frequency as you note. When did CMC go out of business?

"When did CMC go out of business?"

Someone here should know. Or over at LocostUSA. It has been long enough that they have disappeared from the InterNet thing.

Fiberfab International to Classic Motor Carriage/CMC to Auto Resolutions to Street Beasts, finally dying in 2010, with the molds and jigs being sold off on Ebay in bits and pieces, circa 2010-2012. 10's of millions of dollars were fleeced by unsuspecting customers..........

I think he was talking about the other CMC. ( The Champion Motorcar Company in Alabama , or some such variation, Steve Laurendine's co.) The Champion Motorcar Company, business stopped About 9-10 years ago IIRC.

Yes - the CMC in the ad is a Champion Motorcar Co. roller. 9-10 years ago fits with my vague recollection of 2007.

I was not thinking about the FiberFab debacle....thats a whole other can of worms

Hand-built Caterham Super 7 SV "Hayabusa 1400." Engine and drive train designed and built by the late David Saville Peck of Ennerdale Engineering. This car is fully road legal and titled as such. This is the ONLY Super 7 Hayabusa 1400 in the US! It has been used primarily for track days and shows wear as such. It comes with brand new Avon tires and an all- aluminum trailer. Like all track cars, it demands some TLC, so if you don't like turning a wrench, this car is not for you. The advantages of the motorcycle engine and transmission as compared to an auto engine/transmission are light weight, compact packaging, high specific power output, and a built- in sequential gearbox allowing clutchless upshifts. This car is a blast to drive and will handle, accelerate and brake in ways that heavier cars simply will not.History

Hand built in 2006 by David Saville Peck of Ennerdale Engineering in Chamainus, BC. for a customer. I am the second owner.

2005 Birkin S3 up for sale.

Looking for the perfect track/street car? This car weighs 1234 pound with half a tank of gas, street tires, and the full height windshield.

This is a California SB100 car and should be smog exempt in CA. Originally built by MSI / Birkinsport of Vacaville with a their 200hp Zetec. I have had the car since August of 2010 and have enjoyed every minute I have spent behind the wheel. The Birkin is located in Austin, TX and is ready to drive as is on the road or the track.

The car is equipped with ITBs, Emerald M3D F.I., Quaife LSD, semi close T-9 gear box. The car is fully sorted and ready to go anywhere or run track sessions long enough to empty the 11 gallon tank. The stock Birkin fuel tank has been modified to run an internal fuel pump and is baffled with check balls eliminate the fuel starvation issues the stock tank was known for.

The car comes with the following

The car comes with 2 sets of wheels and tires. For the street I have 949 15x7 fronts with 205/50 R888 and the rears are 15x8 running 225/50 R888

The 2nd set of wheels are light weigh multi piece 13 inch Kodiak wheels running Avon ACB10 tires for track use.

A new set of sport seats with mounts not installed in car

2 windshields and a 1st gen Caterham wind deflector

3 Roll bars (one new unused stock, one cut up stock and a custom one that is 8 or so inches taller than stock that will allow anyone to pass a broom stick test

A Birkini top

A unused FuelSafe fuel cell designed and build for MSI

A unused and never installed fire system

Wind deflectors and storage bag

I also have a set of custom hemi jointed radius arms that I have never installed

Birkin spare tire carrier

I am sure I am missing items that are included but will add to the list as they come to mind

The brake system has just been flushed and oil changed.
