I wonder if one of the race car marketing sites might get you more eyeballs looking for a track/autoX only car? Hopefully BAT comes through for you though! Hopefully BAT comes through for you though! Cueball1, That is likely quite true but I had no intentions of using it on the street on this go-around. I built the car specifically to see how well I could build a Stalker and also to see how fast I could get on autocross tracks. It was going to be a x2/month hobby activity. Unfortunately, I aged out and my body just can't handle the g forces comfortably and the long days standing around at an autocross event. OTOH, it would not be a big deal for someone to go through the process of making it streetable. I am not sure why I would have to spoon feed a subsequent buyer? If they wanted to use it on the street, they could simply put on the few things that are necessary to comply with a 1962 Lotus Replica and get is titled and licensed. Not a big deal in some States. There are times, especially when we were in the grips of Covid where I wanted a bucket list project but did not have an eye toward resale. I frankly was amazed at how complex a build can be. I was fortunate to have sorted the car out in less than a year but I understand that some builds take folks several years to get things working properly. Fortunately, I had the expert help of several people that made the project doable. MV8 Posted May 24 Share Posted May 24 Looks very practical and well done for regular use. Carbs have the choke cable set up. Most everything is well routed. Not crazy about the fuel pump fitment. Could probably use new rubber fuel lines everywhere. The parking brake cable routing seems off but functional. Interesting custom air box for the carbs. Plenty of header to steering shaft and alternator clearance. No heater. Good engine to bonnet clearance. Looks to have plenty of suspension travel at the rear for a good ride. JohnCh Posted May 25 Share Posted May 25 @Anthony I've owned a similar Westfield produced a year earlier ('95). It's actually an SEiW not a WSEi as stated in the ad. That means it has IRS and the wider body. In width, it's midway between an S3 and SV at the shoulder, and closer to the S3 at the dash. Pedal box is similar in size to the SV. The roll bar is not factory, and they removed the boot box and locking boot lid rather than modify them to work with the bar. That's unfortunate as the locking lid is a great feature. It's not hard to fabricate a replacement boot out of aluminum though, and you can make it much larger than the factory setup. It's hard to say if the top will still work with that bar – they may have sized it to double as the support hoop – but regardless, a half hood is the way to go. Bob Yarwood, the US distributor at the time, claimed 145hp for the engine, but it's closer to 120, which is expected for a 1700cc with Kent 234 cam, and DCOEs. It's still plenty quick (Road & Track clocked that configuration at 6.1 sec from 0-60), tractable, and sounds fantastic. Although Westfield never made inroads into the US, they've sold a lot of cars over the past 40 years and have a huge UK-based support system in WSCC. Drop me a PM if you have any questions. I can say the beige leather Caterham seats in the Rotus came out of a 2004 Caterham SV I used to own - I sold him the seats. They do look good in that Rotus.
