Kitcat
Got to agree with usa7 (Hey, why didn't I think of that name?). Maybe a Caterham mfg plate can purchased separately from Caterham? For whatever reason, I looked at every single above offering for USA. What an amazing collection of original Lotus 7's and their progeny, including Caterhams of multiple specs and configurations (including one with a 2 year manufacture's warranty, whatever that means), V6 and V8 Stalkers, various Birkins and even a Westfield, not to mention all of the odd-ball, wannabee se7en versions. Some very good prices as well. I find all of the original Lotus 7's very tempting, but very $$$. It is interesting, also, to see how the Caterham prices drop as the cars get newer. I guess we can thank the "hardly" Brexit for the new strength of the $ versus the pound. I wonder why that hasn't been reflected in the price of new Lotuses (Evora GT400) which sadly, continues to be way over-priced? Croc
Maybe a Caterham mfg plate can purchased separately from Caterham? The current crop of chassis have the VIN embedded into the chassis tube. Its not a stamping and not a plate. Definitely not a retrofit. There will be some back story as to why a close-to-new Caterham chassis does not have VIN, MSO or other identifying mark. Probably an Arch replacement chassis or similar. fatallightning
I ended up buying that Dunnell powered Birkin, thanks for the tip! Here's a car I passed on, but seems like a deal and half. Croc Ahem, it is unlikely that I will ever get a chance to visit Bintan, Indonesia (sob). Mike is probably having to "suffer" through the holidays at the Bintan Lagoon Resort! with the weather vacillating between a low of 79F and highs of about 89F (sob). Croc
Its a lot more complex than you think Bob. Its a 10 day round the world. So its... 1) Tokyo - Aman Tokyo https://www.aman.com/resorts/aman-tokyo 2) Singapore - Fullerton Bay Hotel https://www.fullertonhotels.com/fullerton-bay-hotel-singapore/offers/room-offers 3) Bintan - The Sanchaya (just the Saturday and Sunday) https://www.thesanchaya.com/ 4) London - the usual apartment Then back home. So I have to plan for suit and tie and cold weather plus warm tropical weather, all while only taking a carry on rollaboard and briefcase.

I talked at length to this seller before buying my Birkin. This is the person who bought it from that seller, seemed willing to negotiate if someone was serious and acted quickly. The proportions of the WCM cars are just odd to me, otherwise I would have bought it.

Glad I could clear that up! :jester: -John Sadly no...you forgot a small but critical factor. The world is round. There is a 12 hour time difference. And so at 7am on a Sunday morning (EST) for this in the US Eastern states, it will be 7pm at the Sanchaya where yours truly will be ensconced on the terrace, sun going down, overlooking the mostly turquoise South China Sea, in a wicker chair, admiring some piece of crumpet emerging from the pool, on his fourth gin and tonic, maybe some nuts at hand, a drinks wallah at my side, while i clearly think “@&$k it” at the mere thought of pulling my computer out to log on and list out all those ads. And so I will turn to the drinks wallah and say, “Can I please get another G&T, nice and dry, with extra lemon?” with a big smile on my face. I know myself too well! panamericano
Everyone knows that time is a human construct. Daylight Savings does NOT save any daylight. So, show of hands, who is OK with Croc doing the list a 7:00 PM EST, which would be 7:00 AM where he will be, by his calculations. Of course, if we allow for him drinking a bathtub of gin the night before, we could let him sleep in till 9:00 his time.
