Mike - Doing final prep before leaving this afternoon, and thought I'd review your novella :) regarding the event. Tried to download the NJMP tech form, and got a "page not found" error. Not having any luck finding in on the NJMP site. Anything special on the form that I/we need to know?

Hi Steve

The form has disappeared for me. There was nothing really special on there:

- in date belts or DOT branded road belts

- arm restraints

- proper seats

- brake fluid fresh

- car serviced and in good condition

- no leaks

- if open top car then it must have a roll bar

- battery tied down/secure and terminals covered (ie electrical taped)

Some times they have been known to give grief for not having 5-6 pt harness (i.e. they dont like a 4 pt harness) but then I sailed through tech by saying I have the Caterham 4 pt harness and if they did not like that then I also had the DOT 3 point road belts installed.

I would be surprised if there is anything your car flunks - it always is immaculate and shiny. I have also covered bases this year by having a spare if anyone has a problem.

cheers

mike

Hi Steve, Key items are 2005 or newer Full face shield helmet, in date belts, no corded tires, Brake lights working, no leaks, Battery tied down securely, no loose items in the car. and visible numbers. Those are the things they check. Obviously, you should check, bearing play, brake pads, fresh brake fluid, an good throttle springs etc. Oh and they might ding you for having too shiny a car. :jester:

Looking forward to seeing you on track again. Safe travels. Tom

Damn Too Slow. Croc must not be working.

Thanks. Pretty much what I figured - the usual stuff.

Couldn't remember if they were a "cover the battery terminals" group, but can complete that in NJ. As well as get my arm restraints out of their bag. :)

Thx, Shane, I had printed it earlier and lost it.

I have spent the past day loading up, making preps. As I did so, I thought, Jeez, I kinda wish I had a bigger tow vehicle and a bigger trailer. Then I remembered that the first 2 USA7s events I attended, one of 800 miles, the other 1200, I did in my seven itself. Hauled everything in the passenger seat and in the small boot. Ran with the top up, doors off. Packed light, had a blast.

Well, I'm happy to report, that Two Se7en's arrived safely at NJMP today.

First to arrive was Mario and his Stalker. He reported that he made good time and arrived a day ahead of schedule.

Croc retrieved his CSR after a long winter's nap in the shop with some new mods and drove it over to NJMP this afternoon and arrived about a half hour or so after Mario.

I'm going to load my trailer up tomorrow morning and will arrive around 1pm or so. Looking forward to a fun weekend. Tom

Everyone that planned on coming in tonight made it safely and without too much trouble. A couple guys took a scenic tour of Philly and got caught in the holiday weekend traffic, but still made it in time to enjoy the day. The Humidity was brutal today, but after dinner a front came thru and cooled things off. We are hopeful that the weather will clear in the morning. Next time NO ONE washes their cars before we come ok!!! :jester:

Tom

ps. Shane's trailer is freakin AWESOME!!!
