  2. Thanks for your quick response. My brother had a Birkin and I always really enjoyed driving that car. Your Seven sounds amazing but no room for more cars need to downsize some. I feel the Seven is the perfect blend of open air like the motorcycle and handling like the Mini. If you see a custom Cooper S on bring a trailer there still might be hope for me to own a Seven.   11. This is an interesting idea! I've noticed my gauge doesn't track up to F after a fillup unless it's been running for a while though, so I'm not sure I can trust this.
  12. At the risk of answering my own question, (but to put this post to bed?) I have checked a further couple of books by U.K. Ford Crossflow tuners, and the consensus seems to be that valve stem seals should be placed on the inlet valve at the very least, (to prevent carbon build-up in the head and inlet manifold), but on both valves is preferable. In my small collection of Ford Crossflow reference books, these stem seals are hardly mentioned, if at all. With double valve springs fitted, the original Ford factory 'umbrella' stem seals will not fit, but with single springs - which they were designed for - they will work as they were meant to. David Wallage in his book on tuning the Crossflow noted that some tuners install rubber 'O' rings on the stems for double springs, but he was not fond of this practice, although they will probably work o.k. I also found the 'Felpro' site and it shows the 2 main types of valve stem seal. I plan to stick with the Ford 'umbrella' stem seals (unless someone has other ideas), as they will help to limit too much oil going down the guide, but still allow some oil to splash on the stems for necessary lubrication.   14. I leave my ignition ON and watch the gauge as I fill. When I hit full, I stop. I probably don't quite get it as full as I can, but no mishaps yet.

  16. Thanks for reaching out. KnifeySpoony is correct. An SLR cage is normally accompanied by a removable half screen (Aeroscreen) or a custom windshield. I left the windscreen wipers motors on for the possibility of a custom glass screen. The tonneau is bolted on but can be removed with appropriate tools. I have some race seat runners that can be bolted back into the floor pan. I also have an unused set of Caterham harnesses that would work with a new passenger seat.
  17. You can run a windshield with the SLR cage, but not with doors. You'd have to switch to a different cage/rollbar type if you want full weather gear.

  25. Small update. Played with it for a bit. I think you're on the money. My TPS never sees 0 degrees so the car never stops dumping fuel even with throttle closed on decel. Double checked to see if it's mechanical pull to 10 percent or so it bad calibration. Even with throttle disconnected im still at 10 degrees so time to mess with ITB throttle butterfly stops and resetting things to 0 and bumping up fuel tables so it stops dying when I indicate that it's now 0.   27. OK. The remanufactured starters I have work perfectly in the Birkinized Caterham. On the Birkin, they fit, they spin, but apparently do not engage the flywheel.
