Have to agree with SkinnyG or you could do what I have done and that is to buy a number of spray paint cans and get busy spraying the car. Not a show car finish but sure was inexpensive and quick and touch ups are very easy. See attached photo I know I am a cheap skate but it is my toy and I would rather spend my money on the other toys.

Hi Mike, I now live in Ventura, CA. and have had a home here since 1973 when things were much more affordable and a lot less people. Sounds like we have had a lot in common over the years. Here is a link to some photos you might find interesting if not funny. http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/ALotus7Replica# Photos 338 thru 345 show how I used the front kingpins out of the MGB and should be the same for a Midget. If I were to do it all over again I would just buy a set of Spitfire spindles and hubs as that is what I have found to be as close to the transit van spindles that were originally used on the later Lotus 7 and the Cat's to my limited knowledge. Here is my E-mail address MHKflyer52 at g-mail dot com if you send me a reply I will then send you my phone number so if you have any questions you can then call or just e-mail me. -
That is so wrong in so many ways but I still like it and laugh evertime I see that clip about the VW Polo.

Hi Mazda, You caught up to the biker quite fast in the first one. I like the second video as it shows the enjoyment you get while driving Frankn7 by the smile on your face. Your i-phone works well as a video camara. Glad to see your having fun.

notakit, I just looked at your album of your build. Very Very nice. I built my replica 7 while living in Newberg, OR. but now live in Southern California for the past five years. I also used an MG as a donor vehicle except I used an MGB 1800cc engine, trans, front kingpins, disk brakes and rear axle assembly after cleaning all the mounts from it. I have to say that your fab skills are very very good from your photos. I also made all of my fenders and dash and shuttle out of steel. Outer skin is all aluminum and I also sheeted the bottom of my car and then removed some of the skin from under the engine area for better cooling. My last project was adding a skid plate to protect the oil pan and trans but still let the air flow out. Here is an early photo of my car while still in Newberg, OR. -
I run 15x7 rims and Kumho tires on my car and run the following air pressures in them, 22 front and 24 rear for street and when I auto-x I usually run 26 front and 30 rear. I have also pulled out of my garage and driven to my office and could not understand why the car was pulling slightly to the right when I would take my hands off the steering wheel until I check my air pressures and found that the right front had less air pressure than my gauge would read, Yep it was flat (well leaked all air out of the tire) but still did not come off the rim or break the bead under normal driving. I now check the air pressure anytime I get the car out of the garage before going anywere as I feel I was very lucky that the stiff side wall tires I have on the car were stiff.

Yep I have to agree. Not very realistic at all and after 20 min's I turned it off. Viper being chased by a AH-1 helicopter. Get real they would have never made it off the airport. Oh well just my belief.

I wounder how many cars the bent learning how to do that....VERY COOL...
-
Just amazing. Wonder how many wheels and pedal cranks he has bent and how many trips to the ER to have bones set. The maker of that bike sure has a good product to take that kind of abuse.

After looking at the links photos all I can say is OUCH and Jon (Boxologist) is lucky as usual. Maybe I should make Jon a new "GIF" that has bushes and not cones being run over.......:driving: The SCCA has Rally Cross competitions (Auto-X in the Dirt) from time to time but I do not think that was one of their venues or are you getting in some practice for next years season. So Jon did you have your foot on the breaks when the pickup was pulling you in the field. Glad your OK and that you did not tare up your Miata very much. -
No, have not seen a shoe tree like ever. But from time to time I have seen sneakers on telephone lines and power lines usually close to a school. Always figured that it was someones prank on some kid who left their sneakers out before or after gim class or a team initiation thing or like when a student pilot makes that first solo and get their shirt tail cut off by their instructor and then it gets placed on the office wall for all to see. Very strange and makes one wounder just why but mabe that is the point of it.

Now that is funny. -
To all of the Veterans and Active Duty Personal around the world that stand in harm’s way and protect the rights of others THANK YOU.
-
That is funny especially when the person gets into the back seat of the SUV crossover.
-
Check your ground cables also to the engine and trans as your description of when and how the light comes on suggest that the torque of the engine might be pulling a wire or cable. Hope this helps.
