  1. What state are you in? Sounds like your DMV is giving you a hard time. Ask them to give you an example of the paper work you need and ask nicely.
  2. Kitcat, Why not just replace he shift knob with one that is not the round ball type to a longer type such as these. http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftknobs/desert-eagle-shiftknobs.php :driving:
  3. Stewart (Sabbot), Mike (Croc), Michael (MichaelD), Tom (yellowss7), Mike (Kitcat), Karl (Blubarisax), Steve (Bball), Ron (Redgoose), Dave (DaveD), I find that I am looking forward to reading and seeing more of the photos and video's of your weekend track adventures in the NorthEast thread area to read the about the fun that your are having with your cars and friends. The photos that Mike posted so far are great and very enjoyable to view. Thanks for sharing your groups adventure and weekend fun. Be safe. :driving:
  4. Looking forward to seeing some of the video and photos of what sounds like a very good time had by your group. :driving:
  5. Wow if you mess up and hit one of those tire stacks instead of a small rubber cone your day of fun sure would be bad. Car looks like it really can get the power down very well from the video.
  6. Donkervoort DB GTO Turn on the subtitles for translation. Now this is a nice car but that is just my belief. :driving:
  7. Hi Tom, Saw that on another source and did not realize that you where not driving. Still looks like you had a great day at the track.
  8. Best thing to do would be to call MossMotors Tech line and ask them. They should know and be ablr to give you the correct advise. Moss Motors, Ltd. 440 Rutherford Street, Goleta, California 93117 In the US & Canada Toll Free (800) 667-7872 FAX (805) 692-2510 (805) 681-3400 (8am-5pm M-F) Hope this helps.
  9. Just shaking my head and smiling and woundering just how long it took to figure that all out.
  10. I would not mount the seat rail that way as you have already identified the risk of it tearing out in an accident. You can always get denser foam and added it to the padding in the seat to provide more support with out increasing the size of the padding. Here is a link to a company that makes special seat cushions for aircraft and I can say form experience they make a very good product. http://www.oregonaero.com/products :driving:
  11. Have to agree with rzempel and it looks like it might have been a roadside repair but if it is not then I would definitely be looking at all the car to make sure that there are no hidden gotchya's that would bit you while out on a drive like missing cotter pins and loose nuts and bolts. It is always a good idea to do a nut an bolt check on our cars as they do seem to get driven at the limit and besides it helps you learn about the vehicle. :driving:
  12. If the dozer tire had not destroyed the launch ramp it would have gone much further I would bet due to the shear weight and speed....LOL....
  13. I was also there and we talked a bit but did not know you were a member of this forum. The Queen's English was a very big success and had over 500 British cars at the show. The Blue Lotus 7 that you parked next to is Jay Leno's as it came out of the same trailer that brought his Elan in and parked on the other side of the 7. I have to say you 7 dose look very good in person and sure did shine. Hope to see you again in the local area. :driving:
  14. I know Gearhart as I use to work in Tillamook at the Blimp Hanger. We looked at building a beach / vacation home in Gearhart at one point but decided on Neskowin instead before moving back to Southern California were I do not need a top for my clone 7 :jester:. As for the seats you can always modify the foam in the seat bottom and back to give you a little more lateral support or just sinch down more on the lapbelt. :driving:
  15. Have to agree with bsimon on this one.
  16. Nicely done video and nice looking 7. I laughed at the part where the driver leaves the other guy and then picks up the girl.:smilielol5: A true sevener:driving:fast looking cars and good looking women.
  17. Nice looking TR4 you have now. Make sure you pull your wire wheels and put a light coating of grease on the splines so they do not stick and seize. So are you in Neskowin with your TR4, just woundering as we use to live there.
  18. So how about some photos for all of us who enjoy all vehicles.
  19. That is nice and quiet. What motor do you have in it? I bet your face still hurts from the smile you must still have after that day.
  20. Give Dave Wellwood a phone call Monday as he can tell you a lot about the TR4 and what to look for. He has restored a number of them for clients and is always willing to help someone with information about a British Car. Heck Dave even has a good clean body on a shelf in his shop above his office. Tell Dave I told you about him as we are very good friends and due a lot together when it comes to British cars. Dave Wellwood Wellwood Auto Restoration, Inc. Ventura, CA. 1-805-469-7842 http://www.wellwoodautorestoration.com/ Hope this helps.
  21. Tom that would go good in your game room and movie theater you have in your house and besides you know you would enjoy it. :jester:
  22. The guard attaches to the frame at the front in three places and is isolated by rubber gromets to absorb some of the impact with an object it is then attached to the bell housing at the rear (thick 3/8in Plate in center of the guard right side). My bell housing is actually lower than my oil pan and is much stronger besides so it was easy to just remove two of the through bolts and replace them with longer bolts to compensate for the plate on the guard. I will look around as I have some other photos of the sump guard mounted on the car and will post them so you can see it. Here is a link to another forum that I belong to that has some photos of the damaged oil pan and the skid plate once mounted on the car. Third page of the post http://www.vintagemotoring.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1249&start=50&hilit=Crushed+oil+pan :driving:
  23. So did you wear your bell bottoms and have a big floppy hat on your checkout tour. Just kidding as I knew where the design came from with out reading your post and just seeing the photos stream by to the last post. VERY COOL MAN.
  24. One of the many secrets of the islands and Hawaii. Sounds like you had a great time.
  25. I added a sump guard to my clone which runs an MGB 1800cc engine and I now have 3 inches of clearance under the sump guard. The reason I installed the guard was due to loosing an oil pan and engine to a large amount of asphalt that had been used to hold down a 3/4in. steel plate on a road which had slipped some and caused a large bulge in the road way that was unavoidable due to traffic. I now can slide over the top of large speed bumps with out worry where before the pan would touch if I did not cross them slowly or at an angle. Here is a JPEG of the solid model file that I built for my car and have installed using 1/4"Aluminum plate.
