  1. I am with Tom on that and warmer weather means more driving time for me.......that is one of the reasons I live in Southern California average temp is 73 degrees and sunny 325 days out of a year.
  2. I have to agree with the above statement especially this; "Some environmentally motivated car buyers are concerned about trading one problem for another. They worry that a hybrid utopia might turn into a toxic nightmare when the nickel metal hydride batteries in today's hybrids end up in landfills. After all, aren't all car batteries —conventional lead acid and hybrid batteries alike—filled with the same nasty corrosive carcinogenic ooze?" Here in California the state has stopped giving the stickers to the hybrid cars that let them use the HOV lanes with just one person mainly due to the fact that the hybrid cars batteries are a nightmare when they are involved in a accident and are not that environmentally friendly. Yes the hybrid autos are neat and seem to be efficient for the technology that is at hand now, but without more development and better sources of energy storage they will be an environmental issue for sometime and cost more in the long run for everyone concerned. My bet and money is on the development of the Hydrogen Powered Car such as the BMW Hydrogen 7 Hybrid that can run on either hydrogen fuel or gasoline if necessary (about 125 miles on Hydrogen [17.5 gal liquid Hydrogen tank] and 300 miles on gasoline). Biggest problem for hydrogen fuel is the refilling stations as they are very few and far between and the lack of knowledge of handling and storage from what I can see. Just my belief and opinion.
  3. Nice front suspension I must say......:smilielol5:......
  4. Have to agree with Bart as steering effort is directly related to how much movement of the tire (tire surface area to ground contact) and the size of the steering wheel. Yes tire size dose play into how hard it is to turn the steering wheel when sitting still but once the vehicle is moving the effort drops a lot when the alignment is set correctly. HP really dose not come into play with a LSIS unless your steering using your right foot to get the back end loose while turning the front wheels. I do that from time to time when playing in a large parking lot and I only have about 120 HP on a good day. I would go with a manual steering rack just for the simplicity but that is just my opinion and you know about opinions.
  5. Hi Jim, Why not find a local plaque / trophy shop and see if they can make you a plaque with the correct shift pattern for your car. I have done that for several cars that needed a shift pattern plaque to finish the interior and it is very reasonable most of the time. You might even want to check out your local mall as there is usually a shop that dose that sort of plaque making. Just a thought....hope this helps.
  6. Now that is FUNNY.....
  7. Have to agree with that. Very inspirational to say the least. KUDO's to his DAD and Mom for not giving up.
  8. Now that is FUNNY.....but no COFFEE CAN Exhaust Tip......
  9. Flat spotted those tires for sure......you could just about see the concern the driver of the Black and Sliver 7 at the beginning of the second spin by the way he or she backed off and waved while going by.....
  10. Some very good points have been brought up here and I do agree with most of them but I also just think that the American Public is just starting to wake up to the fact that the FAT CATS in Washington are not doing their jobs as they have said that they would do. So people are now realizing that they can make a difference by voting for a change even if they really do not know what that change will bring in the long term, so I think it is a good wake-up call to all politicians of all parties and their agendas. The Mid-term elections should be entertaining and Eye Opening I hope.:flag:
  11. That is true but after watching the clip you can see that the driver of the Red Cat is much slower than the other 7 until it pulls over and then eventually catches up and passes the Red 7 and started to play WAG THE TAIL like the Red 7 was doing from the beginning. At one point the Red 7 came very close to losing it. Glad I am not paying for the Red 7's tires or maintance..... Have to agree with you on the fun aspect but controlling an auto that has less power or a harder tire compound is also very fun when done correctly and with finesse..... Just my belief but what do I know.... Neat clip to watch though....was wondering if I would get to see the Red 7 loop in the process.
  12. Hi Spotcheck, That is a good documentary which I have not seen completely before. Worth watching for anyone. :cooldude:
  13. Have to agree your new camera takes very nice and clear video.
  14. That is a good use of the cash for clunkers autos that the government purchased with our tax money.....
  15. Have to agree with you on that.....:smilielol5:
  16. LOL....So that is what is in the feature for all of us.....
  17. Have to agree with you both. Support our Military Personal as they support us and the world.
  18. The Karma looks a lot like a BMW Z6 but as a coupe......just plain sexy in my humble belief.
  19. Well that is OK as the weather is only one of the real reasons that I live ni Southern California and even then it is becoming harder to stay here just because of the way things are in this state with all the Taxes and such.....
  20. We have East Winds today coming out of your neck of the hills and to boot last night it rained if you can call it that at about 8pm. I at first thought the neighbor was messing with me by spraying water over the bushes and wall that seprates the yards....LOL....
  21. I just have to tell you guys that the LOW TEMP here in Ventura, California last night was 49 degrees at my house and the temp at the moment is 82 degrees in the shade at 1:24pm and here is proof just to rub it in. :hurray:

  24. Looks good Robert.....I would bet if you made a couple of those you could sell them as they look that nice and simple to convert from the stock windshield to Brooklands without major modifications to the car. Nice Job.
  25. Miller is the smoothest to use in my humble belief but as you stated expensive. Look for a used one as that is how I purchased the one I have and it works like a charm, had to replace the nozzle and tip and fix the ground clamp as it was loose from the previous owners use or should I say miss-a-buse. The ESAB and Hobart’s are also good as friends of mine have them and I have used them on occasion before getting my own. Make sure your local welding supply caries replacement parts for the make you purchase so that you do not have an issue getting new tips and nozzles. Also use and air water separator if the unit you buy does not have its own air pump as clean dry air works the best I have found along with a good ground.
