  1. The hounds of Hell?
  2. :iagree:
  3. Sounds like a lazy government official. Find a supervisor, but be polite.
  4. True or not, I use anti-seize. I bought a jar of it YEARS ago and haven't used it up yet. It's good insurance.
  5. 11Budlite, BINGO I zoomed in on the picture and now know what I'm looking at. Just like the sketch in the link. :hurray:
  6. The foam around the battery is from the product packaging. I used it to locate the battery on the trap and it is secured with tie wraps (like the lead-acid battery before). Looks like it has done double duty as an heat shield/insulator so far. I'll look into alter the location.
  7. I'm getting around to wrapping the header with insulation material. It looks like it is needed. The tail pipe bracket broke so I'm doing that repair, so while I'm at it I'm installing the tape. The back side of the Alt. is melted and the foam around the battery shows signs of heat.
  8. I'm trying to figure where 0 is and what the other marks are. I'm guessing the spacing is 5 degrees between marks, other than that I need help. It's a 1600 crossflow. Thanks Y'all
  9. I think I'm doing a public service when driving my 7. It's great to see people smile, thumbs up and pictures taken. The best one was a kid riding a bike and his jaw dropped! I hope he is a future 7 owner.
  10. I wonder what the chassis number is.
  11. My 7 is similar to yours and I do smell gas fumes in the garage I park it in. It has no features to capture gas vapors. We have become use to cleaner air with less odors. This can be attributed to cars that do not allow gas vapors to escape unburned, also the many places that have become smoke free. Our noses will pick up these smells more easily. Gas vapor is heavier than air, if you could set up a exhaust fan close to the floor it may help.
  12. Keep the faith, keep believing, keep praying.
  13. Looks to be the same chassis as my '95 with bench seats. I'm 5'10", 30" inseam. I have piece of 1x2 to space the lower seat back forward about 3/4". This gets me good reach on the pedals. I also wear size 10 shoes and they overlap on the clutch and brake. My longest blat so far was 5 hours with 3 or 4 stops to give the tail a break.
  14. I was wondering how that could be done. Create a weak point to protect the bodywork and limit the damage to the fender only.
  15. That's one serious rig! What do you estimate the towing weight to be?
  16. Crisp, Clean, INSANE! Love it!
  17. Are referring to the rubber assembly or the steel structure?
  18. It only makes sense that someone that enjoys the essence of a 7 might be into the process of straight razor shaving, it's not for everyone. You need to enjoy going for the extreme and single minded focus of the pure experience. (Full disclosure, beard-yes, electric shaver-yes, lazy-no, efficient-yes)
  19. Add a set of expansion chambers for fun!
  20. DOT approved http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/led-headlamp-pa-11-7339010--1
  21. I'm of the opinion that the rubber bushings are a mechanical fuse for the rear suspension. They are the first thing to fail. If the "A" frame is beefed up, then you will find the next weakest component, and more expensive and/or exciting to replace.
  22. I purchased a 3rd or 4th hand used '95 Caterham from a guy who had owned others. He indicated he replaced the rear "A" frame bushings yearly. They are a wear item. I'm not as aggressive (so far) as you state, I've not experienced much stepping out (yet). I prefer not to draw the attention of those guys driving the black & white cars. :blueangel:
  23. :iagree: Having fun in the fab shop!
  24. I hope there will be a bunch of video shot at the event. With all the chatter leading up, it should be good. :lurk:
  25. Sounds like a plan. That's the grade I've been using.
