  1. Now I get it. :jester: Thanks, Carl
  2. "They are coated with PlastiDip for now, but I will probably have them powder coated when I take my headers/exhaust down to get their ceramic coating." I'm looking to have my header ceramic coated. Is ceramic coating the same process as power coating but with a different material applied?
  3. :iagree: For what I'm loosing by getting rid of the lead/acid, it's a good trade-off.
  4. So, what is the politically correct way to execute a convicted person?
  5. Looks great John. Sure beats the set-up holding my old battery, ZIP Ties! Looks like something good to copy.
  6. rnr, Is that the 16 cell model? Thanks, Carl
  7. My lead/acid battery went TU. To replace it with a compact/solid battery, how many CA do I need to look for? The lump is a 1600 crossflow. The dead battery lists CA @ 530 and CCA @ 450. Suggestions?
  8. I suppose if it was built after 1973 it isn't a True Lotus 7. If mine was a original 7, I wouldn't enjoy it as much because I would be worrying too much about it getting dirty or worse. It's a blast to drive and I enjoy the thumbs-up.
  9. I was digging thur a box of books and found my copy of Racing and Sports Car Chassis Design by Costin & Phipps. Time for review.
  10. You could listen to your passenger's screams, either joy or terror. :hurray: :puke:
  11. I finally was able to get the car in the air to look at the pan. It looks to like to remove the pan, the crossflow engine needs to be separated from the transmission. There is a shield covering the bellhousing that is hiding 2 pan bolts. So, if I really want to pull the bearing caps, I need to remove the lump? :banghead:
  12. John, I find it interesting to watch dirt track cars. Their inside front fender is miles above the tire, but they are flying thru the corner. Keep it coming. Thanks, Carl
  13. Yes, I'm a bit callous. I hope the damage was only to the Z.
  14. How many cones did he take out? :conehead::conehead::conehead:
  15. :iagree: You know where the weak point is. It is predictable. To harden that will transfer the load to the next weaker point.
  16. I like the part about using fuel flow as a controlling factor. He was only +30 years early!
  17. I've seen a few references to "Redline" as a source for parts. I'm only familiar with Redline Oil. Please post some links. Thanks, Carl
  18. +22F and flurries in Atlanta and that is the HIGH for today. It's predicted to get to +5F over night. Not the coldest I've seen here. I recall something around -9F in the 1980's.
  19. ultraslow, Thanks for telling of your experience. It's good to hear. Carl
  20. Twerd68, I don't recall how you are planning on using a 7. Street only, track only or some of both? If you have (oops) I missed it. Thanks
