  1. How many cones did he take out? :conehead::conehead::conehead:
  2. :iagree: You know where the weak point is. It is predictable. To harden that will transfer the load to the next weaker point.
  3. I like the part about using fuel flow as a controlling factor. He was only +30 years early!
  4. I've seen a few references to "Redline" as a source for parts. I'm only familiar with Redline Oil. Please post some links. Thanks, Carl
  5. +22F and flurries in Atlanta and that is the HIGH for today. It's predicted to get to +5F over night. Not the coldest I've seen here. I recall something around -9F in the 1980's.
  6. ultraslow, Thanks for telling of your experience. It's good to hear. Carl
  7. Twerd68, I don't recall how you are planning on using a 7. Street only, track only or some of both? If you have (oops) I missed it. Thanks
  8. When I was in my hunt for a 7, I was asked this thought provoking question. Which do you want to do more, build or drive? My answer was drive.
  9. I've been looking at this type of 4 point set-up. I'm interested what others think about these. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/seats-interior/willans-supersport-4x4-caterham-harness
  10. Bonnet (just had to say it) :jester:
  11. About RHD, since I've been driving my RHD crossflow, it is different. A drive-thru or toll plaza present issues, but I'll save those for "normal" driving. As to sight lines, with my butt so close to the pavement, I find that more of an adjustment. All these challenges come about in populated areas, the most fun is two lane roads in the boonies!
  12. My xflow has a solid state electric fuel pump and a pressure regulator set @ 2psi. I'm the 4th owner, so I do not know if this is the original set-up, but it is doing the job. I don't know if this works at 100F ambient, that's above my operating temp.
  13. Any idea what the reserve price is?
  14. I enjoy seeing the smiles and "love your car". I know it's the car, but I'm the lucky guy who gets to drive it! :hurray:
  15. I'm looking at some items I will be ordering from a UK vendor. Good news is no VAT, but I expect there will be an import duty. What's the going rate and how is it collected?
  16. Merry Christmas to ALL and I hope the weekends' weather storms did not treat y'all badly.
  17. In things like this, my mind goes to the worst outcome. - Oil analysis, didn't think about that. Test kit requested. - Some extra oil in the pan. I'm planning on looking at the bearings (one at a time), the question may be "what is the difference between normal wear and starvation damage?" Thanks for the input.
  18. I was moving my 7 from the garage to the workshop and took a few laps around my private road course and experienced a temporary loss of oil pressure. The motor stalled, it re-fired and I made a few more laps and noticed the pressure dropped to 0 bar but it returned to 5 bar. I then drove to the workshop and parked the car. It seemed to run normally and no knocking sounds were noticed. I checked the oil level and it was low but did wet the dipstick. Now, some detail and explanation... My workshop is behind the house and there is a loop in front of the house. The loop is roughly a 70 ft dia circle (half is round and it tightens up as it meets the main slab). So, to my question(s) Did I hurt the rod and main bearings? How can I examine the motor for signs of damage? I can get the car in the air and remove the pan. Should I remove bearing caps and look at the surfaces? BTW I was moving the car to the shop since I will not be able to drive it until mid-February. I have a bandage on my clutch foot the size of a ski boot. It will come off and be replaced by a plastic boot.
  19. It looks like a full size display case.
  20. Something GM came up with last century
  21. Interested in the side screens and mount if still available.
  22. I saw a BBC Top Gear episode where they were dashing around in a Reliant and repeatedly rolled it on its' side at roundabouts. :banghead:
  23. At one time in this country, one could agree to disagree. Unfortunately, public discourse has lost its' bladder control. The middle ground has turned into scorched earth. I guess it's hard to escape people how have not progressed beyond the school yard. Mandela presented an example on how to move forward in spite of what has gone before.
