  1. Spotted this this morning on CL: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/san-jose-2007-wcm-ultralite-s2k/7207735795.html
  2. I agree with John, pull the engine. Unfortunately I suspect you're going to find some ugliness once you dig in and it will be much easier to deal with it when the engine is on the bench. Have you checked the cylinder with a borescope?
  3. Brightonuk, You have a PM. Andy
  4. Brightonuk, You're tempting me! What's required for inputs? The only instructions I could find online were in Italian. I have an older 967 MBE ECU. Andy
  5. You may want to take the time to see where you're at before throwing $ at it. If you do end up making changes make sure you have your ride height dialed in. I don't know how sensitive the bump steer on a Caterham is, but it's possible you'll find what works at your "road" setting is not the hot ticket for your "track" setting.
  6. Have you measured the current curves?
  7. papak, You mentioned that it happens when accelerating out of a turn. Not when going straight? If so I'd be inclined to look at the limited slip. Is it possible you're getting some kind of stick/slip/stick/slip going on? I seem to recall you did a diff recently. Andy
  8. papak, I wonder if the clutch is slipping? Does it ever flare when you are at WOT and the torque peak? Is it possible the friction material has been contaminated? I'd check the d-shaft, U-joints, and d-shaft hardware just to be safe. Of course, maybe it's tire spin ! Edit: Was everything was fine prior to pulling out the gearbox? Andy
  9. I'd be interested in his comments on the setup if he's willing to share 'em. Andy
  10. Does she like driving it? That has worked for me :driving:. Heck, maybe you can get her to pitch in for the maintenance!!!!!!!!!
  11. Better than a drug habit...
  12. Check out those tires! I bet it's a big fun to drive!!!
  13. Hills... and corners! (and potholes that will swallow a 7 whole :banghead:)
  14. papak, I'm with you on the drives. We've been doing a bunch of them locally and not so locally. One day we took the 7 and Midget out with some friends and went up in the local hills. It was a blast! Sometimes it's just nice to get outside and play a bit. Andy
  15. Here's another one: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Micro-600-Sprint-Racing-Battery-Box-for-Odyssey-PC680-Battery,83562.html
  16. Turning the headrest worked pretty darn well. It's still a bit too thick, but it's a TON better than it was. Thanks for the idea! I'll test it at the next AutoX. Maybe the headrest is why I hit all those cones...
  17. Favorite bit in the ads: "Seat three abreast or have four seats in my chassis?" "No, the frame design will allow only a small third seat - transversely in the back, suitable for a child up to about 12 years old."
  18. Thanks for the replies guys, I was able to turn the headrest around. The angle is kind of wonky, but it may be an improvement. I'll have to grab the helmet and try it today. The Caterham 1/2 headrest would likely do the trick, I'm just hoping for a less expensive option ! Andy
  19. Hello, I'm looking for a headrest for my 2003 SV seat for modification. It need not be pretty! The issue is when I have a helmet on the current headrest pushes my head forward by the thickness of the helmet and it's darn uncomfortable. I'm looking for a headrest I could modify and swap in when I'm using a helmet. I could likely even use just the "stem" and work from there! Thanks, Andy
  20. My vote is a loose butterfly or misaligned linkage. Please don't drive it until it's sorted! A 7 stuck at WOT is not a good place to be. Edit/Addition: Is your throttle cable near a heat source (exhaust)? I've seen the plastic inner lining of some cables get soft and grab the inner cable leading to a "gummy" feel.
  21. Dave, 1) I'd suggest attaching it with 3M Dual Lock. No holes and removable if necessary. It's good stuff! 2) Whatever size vacuum hose that fits on the barb(s) should work fine. 3) I'm not familiar with the intake system on your Sigma. Andy
  22. Mine's bolted to the front most outer seat bolt and to the threaded boss for the exhaust (unused on the driver's side). I made it with some round stock from a discarded lawn chair and some scrap I had lying around . It bolts on in under 5 minutes with not modifications to the car other than a longer seat bolt, but I haven't "tested" it yet ! I picked up a bag nylon 6/6 bolts for the fenders from Amazon.
  23. Anker, Looks like a fun course. Thanks for posting videos. The trick around here is getting registered for the autocross, online registration for the one next week filled up in under 2 minutes! I'm on the wait list with my fingers crossed. Andy
  24. I was having some weird cooling level issues that turned out to be the cap. The cap on your Birkin appears to be the same as the one on my Caterham. The two p/n's I found for a replacement were PCD100160 and GRC184. The cap I ended up with was an OEM Rover cap. I'd suggest you try that 1st as it's inexpensive and easy.
  25. I'd put it inside a car parked in the sun and that should allow it to return to it's orig. shape once it gets nice and toasty.
