    rapist alert

When no mean no Actually this is to alert rapists.... would be nice for them to think twice if this was out there http://inhabitat.com/2010/06/21/african-doctor-invents-female-condom-with-teeth-to-fight-sex-assault/#ixzz0ro0hywZk I know some fathers that would wish there was a way to have their teenage daughter wear it;)
  5. Funny, on my everlasting search for rattles I just noticed last week that same header pipes touching the frame and am having a dimple put in it. All the other pipes are well clear. I've also had a bracket welded on the the rear of the muffler that bolts (rubber spacers) to the frame under the seat so it just doesn't hang there.
  6. That's great news! I couldn't think of a better person to take over. Anything I can do on the west coast, let me know.
  7. The main advantage to black is I can use a black sharpie pen to fill rock chips;)
  8. Sad to hear this... you taking a break from 7s or just too many irons in the fire... you got like 13 different jobs;)
  9. How do you get a one-piece header to go around that one section of frame tubing? Do they all go over it?
  10. I like WHTISIT... we all get asked that all the time
  11. It was my second choice mainly because I like the honda engine. I'd take a Birkin over a Caterham due to the price... it's hard to tell the difference between the two and pedigree is not that important to me. The good thing about owning a Caterham is the strong member association... they tend to be a larger, tighter group than most (though very friendly and helpful to other 7 clone owners as well). Don't want to start a pissing contest... just my two cents.
  12. Bster, Birkin was my 2nd choice... due to it being a bit more civilized for touring capabilities. Looks pretty sweet. And consider this... if it's not to your liking I'm sure you would lose very little money reselling it. PS - I don't know Dan, just trying to get Bstr into the 7 fraternity
  13. Who ever came up with that ad ought to get a raise
  14. I always find it funny how the more custom/detail that goes into a car the more we seem to nitpik it. Especially if it's more of a show piece than a driver. Somebody takes a clunker and cleans it up and we say "great job!" but when someone goes all out we say "nice except...". I think it's because we assume the owner just pimped it out to some shop and wasn't involved. Or we can't help but comment in the vein of "if I had that much money I'd of done X different". Must be human nature cause I see it on other car/bike sites as well. PS - I've been guilty of it too;)
  15. I have to agree with Mopho. I actually like my 7 over my previous sportbike because most the fun is under 3 digit speeds. It was too easy to just nail the throttle and get to silly speeds on the bike... though I do miss the ability to pass cars quickly and split lanes. The biggest difference I notice is the faster you go on a sportbike, the more stable it becomes. Pretty intoxicating in it's own right. But I don't miss the sudden fear of coming around a corner, knee close to the ground, and finding a patch of dirt that's been kicked up right in your line. Or a car cutting into your lane (which may be a bigger problem with the 7).
  16. Congrats! I here Texas is easier than most states... I'm sure someone from there will chime in soon. Farmers Insurance got me a 3rd party insurer for daily use and still under my umbrella (have everything with them). It was kind of expensive for the little I drove so changed to Hagerty. I have a generic style car cover from Pep Boys that I use in the garage. It's not form fitting so probably not good for outside (with any wind). Powderbrake, you never cease to amaze me with the cool stuff (tonneau)
  17. I can only think of a few guys that drive their 7s on long trips. It's not really the reliability... though you'd be silly not to carry some tools with you. It's the creature comforts that most people want from a car on long trips. Like staying dry, relatively quiet/buffeting, conversation... These cars are built for lightness/performance. Which means little insulation, you can hear the mechanics of the motor, suspension, tires (squeaks, vibrations etc...). I think these cars may be a bit too hardcore for you... I bet the honda goldwing is a more comfortable set up for touring than a 7. That would be my goal... to try and be comparable to that going down the freeway. Don't get me wrong, there are those that have made their cars trip worthy and enjoy it... just check out that other post where they're talking about a 2 week trip in July.
  18. Probably have airbags for just those occasions... I think Lamborgini has that on a model.
  19. Guess someone snatched up the S2K while you were deciding... sounds like he had several interested at that price. You definately need to get a ride in some 7s so you know what you want. Then it's just a matter of waiting for the car, which can be a while.
  20. Fantastic! Doubt I'll ever see one in real life.
  21. Dang! Seems I'm always on the lookout for that type of thing in the road (when I should be looking farther ahead)... Goes with the cars unless you got the $$ & room for a dry sump I guess. Saw this for the Honda S2000 http://www.drysump.com/honda.htm Skid plate is mucho cheaper
