  1. I have to agree for no other reason than the places that will be impacted most will not affect the majority of us. Heck, China & Russia might end up with better weather...

Man, that's taking the era (early 80s) to an extreme
  3. I'm just amazed they could spend that many hours bent over cars doing that .... my back wouldn't of lasted a day

    One More

It is near the Christmas break of the school year.? The students have turned in all their work and there is really nothing more to do.? All the children are restless and the teacher decides to have an early dismissal. So the teacher says, "Whoever answers the questions I ask, first and correctly can leave early today." Little Johnny says to himself "Good, I want to get outta here.? I'm smart and will answer the question." The teacher ask, "Who said 'Four Score and Seven Years Ago'?" Before Johnny can open his mouth, Susie says, "Abraham Lincoln." "That's right Susie, you can go home." Johnny is mad that Susie answered the question first. Then the teacher asks, "Who said 'I Have a Dream'?" Before Johnny can open his mouth, Mary says, "Martin Luther King." "That's right Mary, you can go." Johnny is even madder than before. Then the teacher said, "Who said 'Ask not, what your country can do for you'?" Before Johnny can open his mouth, Nancy says, "John F. Kennedy." "That's right Nancy, you may also leave." Johnny is boiling mad that he has not been able to answer to any of the questions. When the teacher turns her back Johnny says, "I wish these bitches would keep their mouths shut!" The teacher turns around, "NOW WHO SAID THAT?" To which Johnny replied, "TIGER WOODS. CAN I GO NOW?"
  6. To register the car without SB100 you have to identify the car/year that the drivetrain came from for comparison. It has to have no error codes in the stock ECU (all codes, not just smog)... which can be tough when you don't use the stock gas tank, instrument panel, etc.. Your suppossed to use the whole drive train (except muffler), including rear-end and fuel system, including the stock gas tank and charcoal canister for gas fumes... I can't imagine one of these cars passing the bi-annual smog tests without some type of smog referee exemption (or skirting the issue by knowing someone). Which brings me back to my point of having a car that can pass California's smog test and be registered like regular cars (likely with some special CARB Pending parts). I'm sure companies like Westfield and Caterham have looked into it and figured they couldn't recoup the costs for the additional "CARB approved" parts. Too bad, I'm sure there would be a lot more on the road without the SB100 hurdle (and the restrictions of other states like New Jersey).
  7. I thought I saw the back wheels come off the ground a bit on one of those stops going down hill... better him than me;)
  8. Money and racing go hand in hand. In MotoGP, there are riders who bring their own sponsorships with them and get rides over guys that are considered better... nationality of rider can play a part too. I'm sure other motorized sports have the same issue. It would be embarrassing to me if I was out there getting in the way... on the other hand, makes you wonder how good the real guys are if money can get a rich schmo close. Seems I have little money and am a terrible driver.... but just like a guy with a small johnson; doesn't stop me from having a lot of fun with what I got.
  9. Wow, Now if they could make a smog-compliant one for California they'd probably sell a lot (relatively speaking). After looking into it, it's really not that much to get a CARB Pending exemption for headers, cold intakes etc... the hardest part to me is the requirement for the stock gas tank but I think someone could make it with whatever the Mazda smog parts are and get an exemption. I bet people would pay an extra 2 to 5 grand for a 7 you can register/sale without hassle.
  10. OMG! If that's not fake then he has used up all his luck in 30 seconds

    Fresno State

Pretty gutsy to go for the win (lucky tip too).
  12. My son and I were one of those that waited hours to get in.... great show but I wouldn't do that again. If someone does want to go.... take Hwy58 east past the Edwards exit (and the mile of cars in the right lane) and go down to the next exit and come back from the other side (no one was coming from Boron/Barstow or Vegas). Would of saved 2 hours!
  13. Terrible news... especially around a Holiday. Sorry for your loss.
  14. Or anytime really... http://cohort11.americanobserver.net/latoyaegwuekwe/multimediafinal.html
  15. Pretty obvious that your real familiar with the track... I got a good lesson on late entry and early on the gas;) You make it look easy (sign of a good driver).
  16. Hope your all enjoying the holiday... not a big football fan so snuck in here;)
  17. Scannon, that's exactly what I thought
  18. I would think the 7 will be a lot easier than what you've been doing... perhaps it'll allow you to be more creative... maybe a little more aerodynamic... Look forward to seeing your progress. Have fun!

  20. Slomove, I'm going to have to pass... family committment on Saturday. Thanks for keeping me in mind though.
  21. Replaced all the electrical in my Europa....
  22. Looks like a great time was had
  23. I'd love to do that loop but I need a several more closer to home and shorter runs before the confidence is restored (haven't really gone more than about 130 miles at a time). I think my gas tank/fuel pump problem is solved (which really was the problem that left me stranded 3 times), beefed up bending suspension component, still have a problem with ECU and high revs... solved the sore butt problem with extra gel pad;) Plus the wife and kids are unmerciful on me when it comes to time driving vs working on the 7 and don't think I could take it so soon after my last escapade. Actually I'm pretty confident I'm down to the ECU problem and the car is quite drivable.... it's just that I've felt like this a couple times already so I'm a little gun shy. At some point, I know you've all been where I'm at with your car.
  24. I'd go with you from Taft to McKrittrick (loop back to Btown) but I'm averaging about a 30% chance of breaking down lately and have lost confidence in the car right now. I wouldn't want that to happen out there... on a holiday weekend to boot. I bought that "tilt-a-hitch" unit on a whim thinking I'd never use it ... low and behold, twice in a month (thank god I always have a motorcycle buddy out there with me; and an extra helmet).
  25. And no one will complain about him picking up women that are 30 years younger;)
