LOG 30 - Contest Announcement - Gallery Announcement and Solicitation http://www.lotuscarclub.org/log30events.php Yes, LOG 30 is full of surprises. In addition to the traditional arts and craft contest this year there will be an craft categories for children. This is a wonderful opportunity to get your kids, grand kids, any kids involved in your hobby. An additional category has been added for the longest distance traveled, longest distance tour in a Lotus on the way to LOG. This category is for us nut cases who will use LOG as an excuse to take an extended driving vacation. So take the indirect route to LOG. A gallery of rare and intriguing Lotus memorabilia. The intent is to create a museum style setting for the display of: original drawings, autographs, ephemera, bits of famous race cars, rare model kits, vintage posters, photographs and etc. from Lotus history. This is an excellent opportunity to show off some of your Lotus treasures. Interested? I will be monitoring LOG30Dean@cox.net or send me a private message.

I would like to see it without all the graphics.

How about black flames to integrate the CF nose and air filter? Black chrome the exhaust cover - big bucks.

Nice car. A great use of lists. I wish I could be that organized. I guess I am rebelling from my professional life which is well ogranized

Anyone want to try this at LOG 30?

Sports & Exotic Car magazine article
DeanG replied to Mike Rohaley's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Just getting coverage of Se7ens is a step in the right direction. Too many magazines seem to give scant coverage to Lotus and Se7ens. -
There is a trick to cutting wings. Mark and number points on each template. Have 2 people move the wing/cutter very slowly with one person calling out the numbers so you both stay in sync. You are trying to keep the wire straight and keep it moving.

You could run in straight up like a semi does. It would look redneck funny.

Welcome Kiyoshi; Is there a Lotus you haven't owned? Looking forward to seeing you at LOG. Dean Giacopassi

We survived the weekend and what a weekend it was. We had a surprisingly quick and smooth drive up I-95 to Philadelphia. The magic of GPS took us to our hotel without a worry. We made a quick stop at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum to check out their gift shop and meet a few of the people working there. The opening reception was nice. Great cars and car enthusiasts were everywhere. We were able to spend a few enjoyable hours talking with people and viewing the cars. Saturday was spent playing tourist. Great piles of snow made driving the back streets of Philadelphia very interesting. We started out with a trip to the Liberty bell. The lack of crowds let us take our time visiting several other sites. We managed to have the most expensive lunch I have ever paid for at Amada. My wife enjoyed it, making it worthwhile. She was able to taste some of the things I had eaten while on my 2008 backpacking pilgrimage in Spain. I liked the Melrose Diner better. When it comes to food and wine I guess I am a peasant at heart. Sunday it was off to Kyle’s Lotus Barn and the PALS (Philadelphia Area Lotus Society, a Lotus Ltd affiliate) party. It was great to see some old friends and meet some new folks too. A bit after 3:00 we left the party to head for home and prepare for another week of work. Thanks to all the folks who provides suggestions on where to go in Philadelphia. There are too many things to do and see. We will have to get back there soon. What is the yellow stinger extending out from the lower trunnion?

I had a set of wobbly webs. My dad threw them out. They wouldn't go on anything I have but would have been great trading material.

I saw these on British Speed. A nice bunch of Sevens at a hill climb. Makes my mouth water. http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f120/seven-heaven-83940/

On the positive side the hidden areas look clean. You have a very nice car.

In the 4th picture it looks like one guy is telling the other. Stop... don't pee on the Ferrari.

Concurrent with LOG 30 will be Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral Sep 29 - Oct 3, 2010 http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/fall-carlisle/ There has been some talk among some folks about going on Thursday or Friday. Mapquest gives the time as about 1.5 hours between the venues. A local guy told me it was more like 45 minutes to an hour. Look at the video, around 2:16 there is a guy wearing a Lotus shirt. Does anyone recognize him?

I would like to see "truck" headlights on a Se7en. I bet they would produce a classic yet clean look.

One race at Rockingham through WERA on a 1982 Yamaha 350RD LC. I figured that I was too slow a learner (behind the curve of skill vs. speed) and would get myself seriously hurt. The street seemed too slow after my track time.

You have as much surface area in the mirrors as in the windscreens. Are you planning on being passed much?

Some good suggestions. Thanks. I don't think that I would like either the Mutter or the Body World 2 exhibit. My wife likes impressionist art. We saw a lot of it during 1 week in Paris in 2008. I had to drag her away from the impressionist stuff to get to the medieval museum (the Moyen; I wanted to see the pilgrimage trinkets related to Santiago de Compestela). I think the Barnes Museum will move up the must see list right after the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the National Constitution Center. I didn't remember the battleship. It is sad to say we haven't toured the battleship in Norfolk even though we sailed by it a couple of times. The trouble I always try to squeeze 10lbs. in a 5lbs. bag on every trip. There is too much to see!

I don't know anything about a catalog. I will have to check. I don't even know the time of the exhibitors reception, something that is of some concern to me and great concern to my wife. I will post photos of the exhibition and the reception. We have never been to Philadelphia. Between putting in OT at work so I can make it a long weekend I have been putting together a list of things to see in Philadelphia. So far the short list is: Liberty Bell Independence Hall National Constitution Center Philadelphia Museum of Art University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology Independence Seaport Museum Melrose Diner White Dog Café Jim’s Steaks Amada tapas bar Which is too much to do in only a couple of days. Can any locals help us out with recommendations?
