  1. What spec engine will you be getting? Nice color combo, will you be putting some clear paint protection on it?
  2. Looks like the same wing I have on my wrx. It waterspots easily and the clearcoat will peel off the endplates.
  3. Try starter fluid or a little gas thru each spark plug hole. If it starts then its a fuel issue. You can also disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail, put it in a bottle and cycle the ignition a few times. If there's fuel then the pump is flowing, but may not have enough pressure to start the car. Also try switching out the fuel relay for a known good one.
  4. They must be using a different type of wheel balancing machine than what I'm familiar with. This type should be able to accomodate a 13" wheel with no issues and is the most common type of wheel balancing machines.
  5. Can you put a small heat sheild on that cylinder 1 primary? Just use the header bolts to mount it.
  6. You can also try to pressure test the cooling system. Also there's test strips to test for exhaust gasses in the coolant. Check the sparkplugs to see if there's any coolant residue on them. Head gasket may only leak under pressure. Good luck hope its nothing big. Brownish goo might be just from corrosion. Have you flushed the system and put in new coolant?
  7. Try contacting: Texas Motor Works 1212 North Davis Dr Arlington, Texas 76012 817-461-7431 They are the usa dealer of birkins.
  8. My other car was blocked in the driveway so did a quick run to homedepot with the 7. 40F and raining, just have the softbits half hood on w doors. Just wore a hoodie with a windbreaker on top, hat and leather driving gloves.
  9. I have a standard bar and had trouble figuring out how to get the boot floor clear of the diagonal bars that go to the rear of the car. After 20 mins of twisting and turning it was easier to take the roll bar off. Just 4 bolts and its off. I was surprised how light the rollbar is. FIA roll bar is a possible future upgrade.
  10. If its the sending unit is right on top center of fuel tank. Disconnect battery. Remove roll bar. Fuel filler + fill hose cover and fill hose. Remove rollbar. Remove boot floor and you'll have access to the sending unit. Maybe 1-1.5 hrs total. Don't even think you'll need to drain the gas.
  11. Possible fuel pump going bad?
  12. Also google "rubber isolator mounts" that gave me a lot of hits. Your local industrial hardware store might have something like it.
  13. My fill up experience is the same as scannon. Nozzle part way in and on the slowest speed, works fine. None of those hooded gas nozzles here.
  14. Probably meant sololive.scca.com
  15. I was looking around for polyurethane bushings for another car and noticed powerflex has a caterham application. Just thought I'd post it in case anyone is looking to upgrade or replace their bushings.
  16. I got a car cover from http://www.cover-zone.com/stormforce-car-covers.htm for outdoor storage until I got my garage cleaned up.
  17. Is there any factory wheel that will fit a 7? I'd like to be able to use those search functions that most tire/wheel sites have.
  18. The top doesn't seem to have snaps at the rear to keep the back closed. Also hope the under car photos were taken before the paint was refinished. They should have cleaned the air filters before taking the engine bay pics, seems too dirty for only 1076 miles. I'm curious on how big the fuel tank is. The fuel range w/ a twin turbo 383 might make touring difficult. Might be a stupid question but how do you get the spare tire off and latch the top. Interesting to see a glovebox. Also noticed missing wiper arms in several of the pics.
  19. Tools I've had to use was: -Pocket knife 25 deg F, 2am, softbits top and desperate to wire up my heated jacket. Also used to open up a faulty wiper switch and brake light switch -Electrical tape Used on heated jacket wiring -Flashlight, both handheld and head mounted. Used when working on heated jacket wiring and on headlight. Also used to see speedo at night when wiper switch went into dash and I blew a fuse trying to push it back out. -Duct tape Pitch black 10pm and headlight nut worked loose. I didn't have a big enough wrench. Also used to seal rear window when the full weather top rear window zipper came apart, held up to 70mph. Blew out at 80mph. Also used to tape cellphone to steering wheel to use the gps. -Garmin Gps Lost cellphone coverage and also gps service. -Jumper/booster pack Headlights left on -2 gal or 2.5 gal gas can fit nicely in the boot. Also easier to pour than a 5 gal. Avoid truck routes unless confident in knowing your fuel range. I was an owner for 4 days and gps said it was the fastest route. I think I had .5-1 gal in the tank before I found a gas station. -Air compressor + Tire psi gauge Quick fix to make bumpy/wavy highways liveable. Went from 20psi to 12psi to make the ride smooth out. Other than that Croc worked out most of the bugs. Also window cleaner for the bugs come in handy this time of year.
  20. Don't forget to get a wire gauge large enough to handle whatever you'll be plugging in. I've ran a heated jacket, gps and a phone charger off of mine. Croc did the previous install. I plan on upgrading the power wire to a larger gauge so I can charge my booster pack thru it.
  21. So what does a season of racing a seven cost? Just curious how it compares to other cars.
  22. Is it fuel line routed near any hot parts? Maybe extra fuel line insulation by the transmission or in the engine bay is needed.
  23. Passports, Proof of insurance and vehicle registration is all that's needed. There's a list of prohibited items that a quick internet search will pull up. I went thru Canada 3 times in the past 15 months and didn't have any issues. They didn't even bother searching the car since there's not much room to smuggle anything. One thing to check on is the border crossing times. Some places are 24 hrs but others close in the evening. Also avoid truck routes or carry a lot of extra gas cause there won't be many gas stations. I carried two 2.5 gal cans and a 2 gal can. You might want to get a gas can extension tube or a funnel to make roadside fill ups easier. So don't forget to bring tire change tools. I forgot mine on the last trip but luckily didn't get a flat.
  24. Nice vid thanks for sharing. I suppose SCCA doens't allow the used of a passenger side tonneau cover?
  25. What tires will you be running? That will affect what kind of alignment you will need.
