  1. Oh, sure........leave the Storker boys out of the picture. Just because my car isn't yellow, and is broke and all, doesn't mean I don't want to be there. :toetap05:
  2. A man placed some flowers on the grave of his dearly departed mother and started back toward his car when his attention was diverted to another man kneeling at a grave. The man seemed to be praying with profound intensity and kept repeating, "Why did you have to die? Why did you have to die?" The first man approached him and said, "Sir, I don't wish to interfere with your private grief, but this demonstration of pain is more than I've ever seen before. For whom do you mourn so deeply? A child? A parent?" The mourner took a moment to collect himself and replied, "My wife's first husband." :banghead:
  3. Drew, Welcome to the forum. Pretty much what would have wanted to share, Croc already nailed down to a T. I currently own a Stalker (we jokingly refer to them as Storkers here on the forum) and am a former Birkin owner. The Stalker, while it kind of travels to the beat of its own drum in the ‘looks’ department when compared to a Caterham (my personal favorite) or a Birkin, does have a bit of a ‘parts availability’ advantage when it comes to building, maintenance, repair, etc. when compared to some of the other makes. However, they are all excellent cars in their own right and I would urge you to get what it is that YOU want in a 7. To echo the words of wemtd, I would absolutely suggest that you attend the USA7’s group at NJMP in July. The event is a blast and the various cars that show up will give you food for thought on what direction to channel your interest in these cars. I went last year and only wish I could be there again this year. You asked if it is quite an irrational obsession………I’d say only for those who are without passions in their lives. Cheers!
  4. coffe, I have the same mirror on my Stalker; convex for better rear vis....ordered from Pegasus.
  5. . . . . . . :jester:
  6. Thanks SK. I have a few more weeks in the brace; still (hopefully) beats having surgery. As for the car, resolve is nearing and (again....hopefuly) I'll be wrenching on the ole' Storker fairly soon.
  7. Yeah.....something about the name 'Bursting' that just doesn't quite 'sit' right with me. :ack:
  8. Martin, No apologies or embarrassment required. I miss quite a bit myself.....just asked my wife. :jester:
  9. Barber is still on the radar. Perhaps next year.......once all the smoke clears. I'm still on the mend, and the Stalker is still sitting on the lift, awaiting resolve. :willy_nilly:
  10. Great looking car!
  11. Stimpy, Congradulations on the purchase of #32. Ken did a very nice car. And welcome to the forum as well.
  12. I don't really know anything about Project Cars, but this Brands Hatch comparison tells me that I could whittle a bit of time out of the day if given the chance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0o_3VRlxzo . . . . . [h=1][/h]
  13. If you're not opposed to aftermarket, you might try here: http://www.jpcycles.com/search/search?Ntt=headlight+black&N=28012733%2B275067&Ntk=All
  14. Paul, Having personally read your book on RV fabrication :jester:, I have to say that I have a slight advantage over most others here in absolutely agreeing with you.....she's a very big, very well built gal. And Paul, I think it's time to start a new thread so you can showcase your RV build talents. As for my 'weapon of choice' for an SUV/family wagon "Lightening" round at NJMP, I'd have to borrow the the wife's Sienna and swing by Wal Mart for a rattle can makeover; something like this . . . . . :cooldude:
  15. It's those blasted radial tires! :jester:
  16. Yessir . . . . . :iagree:
  17. Kitcat, Are you thinking maybe there will be a 'revised' future event at NJMP; the all new, first annual USASUV get together? I can see it now; everybody is showing up with their 7's in tow only to unhook the 7's and hit the track with the windows rolled up and the air on. :jester:
  18. This is what Google is turning up for me (two different versions, with the silver SUV being slotted to be built in China) . . . . ?
  19. P, I had a similar situation a few years ago with an engine change (Duratec) in a Birkin I owned. Per Haltech, some wiring had to be changed in order to accommodate the 'change' in cam position sensing. To echo the advice of speedwagon, I'd contact Haltech.
  20. Magnificent! Goes right along with the Hazard Fraught Tools ad. :jester:
  21. fandaor, Welcome to the group! Great bunch of guys and gals here; knowledge and humor abound.
  22. Oh, I wood say that you're just board. :jester:
  23. Great vid, Skip! I especially like that you can see the reflection of the other F-18's in the slot man's visor.
  24. . . . . . . . . :hurray:
