Look at the "Spam-O-Matic" plug in for Vbulletin https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=248042 As a global mod on another site, we had 100's of spammer accounts set up each week, after installing the plugin, maybe 1 or 2 a quarter get through now. Most spammers are automated bots, once they find a sites weakness, they exploit it forever. -

This type of thinking gets bantered around at various make/model specific forums for years. This issue being that only a small part of the enthusiasts and owners/sellers visit such sites. Add in the usual supply vs demand vs new enthusiasts on this site vs the older ones. The bottom line here is a simple one, sites like this were started by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts, when you start throwing values around, greed ultimately rears it's ugly head, and then the site is no longer about enthusiasts, but about resale value. Ultimately, the choice is with each buyer and seller, they, and only they can decide on what is and what is not a fair market value for a specific car, color, or drivetrain combination. As a seller, you can ask whatever you want for a car, as a buyer, I can then decide whether the car fits my wants and needs, and whether the value is comparable with others on the market, again remembering, this site, and sites like it are just a microcosm of the marketplace. Just my two cents worth on this particular subject, posted both from a buyers and sellers perspective, one who never looked at any of the cars I've owned as "investments", just "toys to have fun with". Congratulations on the new purchase, you and your wife are going to love it.

Having owned a few RHD imports over the years, I'd say this one http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/BIRKIN/BIRKIN_SEVEN/700903047530180405001/index.html at roughly $18,000 USD+ the sub $2,000 RO/RO shipping is not a bad deal. Insurance wise, as long as you have an existing policy and a good track (no pun intended) record, I've yet to have an issue with getting insurance for a RHD import. -

Two separate firewall programs (on two different networks) are coming up with a "JSCoinminder Website 2" web attack warning and block. Just thought I post this for the admins to look into a little more carefully. Bill S.

I'm from the early days of the web, where I used to see such posts marked "Look at this cool car I found for sale, what a great deal" , 99% of the time being posted by the seller :banghead:

Post from our own site on the sale/purchase of this car: http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?11297-Superformance-S1-35-found-a-new-home Of course if you look at the origin of post 1525 in the long running "look what I found on the web" for sale thread of Croc's, you'll notice the innocent "look what I found" post by "Driven" Two sites for SPF owners, really geared towards the Cobra replicas, but they do have a knowledge base for the S1 owners buried deep within. Sadly, they have changed their format over the years, so you have to own a SPF before you can join and see within their private forums. http://www.secondstrike.com/ or http://superformance.org/scof/ There is also a SPF subforum on Clubcobra, again, really geared towards the roadsters/coupes.

Paul, PA uses "PA licensed" Notary services for the title swap. My sound advice as an Ex-PA resident who titled more than my fair share of "replicas" (mostly Cobra and Lotus 7's), is that you do a straight title swap first. Once title is in hand you can then get a set of plates and valid registration. Keep it simple, do not use the word kit or replica while at the notary office as to throw up a red flag of any kind. PA should take your CA title at face value, regardless of whether it was done using the SPCNS (and SB100) process or not. Bill

Car listing website, 2040-cars.com legit?
mrmustang replied to philso's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Sites like that (and 100's-1,000's of others) grab information off forums such as this, cars.com, ebay, etc and repackage them as their own "inventory", do not send your information to them through their "contact a seller" forms. -

Fiberfab International to Classic Motor Carriage/CMC to Auto Resolutions to Street Beasts, finally dying in 2010, with the molds and jigs being sold off on Ebay in bits and pieces, circa 2010-2012. 10's of millions of dollars were fleeced by unsuspecting customers.......... Bill S -

I wanted shots of the supercharger set up, that is all ' As for the MK IV (the best of them all), the 3 link is the way to go, I've retrofitted them in to 6 of my early FFR's that were built without them. Makes the car superbly predictable at track speeds as well as on the street. Koni's are the best shocks FFR has ever offered............200hp is enough to kill you, so best to respect the car before you ever turn the key for the first start, as the car is like nothing you have ever driven in your life, and the learning curve while not long, can be dangerous. Just some friendly advice from the retired body shop owner (and racer) who has repaired enough of them from owners who "knew what they were doing". Bill S
