2016 Incarnation Super Stalker "Bomb Girl"

11 Nov 2021, a rough day....

So I crashed Bomb Girl on Veterans Day. I am O.K. Nobody else hurt. I’ve just a few fractured ribs, bruises, concussion etc.. the worst being my pelvis and lacerated spleen.

I have absolutely no memory of the accident or pretty much everything from 11am to 1:30pm. I am told my right front wheel turned into the left rear of another car, spinning them (like a pit maneuver) before sliding off the road, digging into the soft dirt then one quick flip and abrupt stop after bumping a tree. Jaws of life and a saw cut my roll cage off.

Thanksgiving came early for me. I am so lucky.

Made it home on 1 Dec in wheelchair.  Still a little pain in abdomen, left hip and ribs, but healing up quick.  Now to wait for the pelvis to heal so I can get up and walk downstairs to the garage to start the disassembly and next build...

My daughter took a couple photos attached.  Seems the frame is pretty bent in a few spots, and no idea if the motor, trans or rear end are salvageable, as I am told all the oil, coolant and most of the brake fluid and trans fluid are out.   No gas leaks.  I'm told to not even think about it until I can walk.

@Bonjo2 wow. Thanks for sharing and glad you're "ok". It's easy for any accident to become a serious accident with our little cars. There are similar to motorcycles in more ways than one.

If it makes you feel any better it's not unusual to not remember the actual accident or much around it. When I hit the guiderail on my motorcycle I briefly have a recollection of approaching the turn and a few other things that day, but not much else before or even after. I don't remember the ambulance, the hospital or even details in days after.

@Bonjo2  Very sorry to hear of the incident.  Cars can be put back together more easily than humans.  Get yourself through recovery process and enjoy the holiday season with family.  Your Stalker will be there to rebuild when you are ready.    I bet it is all repairable.  May take a new frame but it can be done.

I guess “Courage” is the right name for your se7en! And for you: you really took a beating!

Any  after-the-fact safety thoughts? Did the roll cage protect you? Did your seatbelts? Did you have a harness, 6 point? Did the suspension collapse, like on another notable Stalker wreck? Were you wearing a helmet? What will you do differently, if anything, if you rebuild?

Hope you continue to mend!

I had a 6 point harness and decent seats.  The flip did no damage to me.  Side impact protection at least strong enough to take a few g's would of made all the difference to my hip and ribs and head.  My pelvis and spleen all a result of the tree and the 16g steel tubing floor pushing very bendy seat in 5".  I am told they cut roll cage and and pried me out using the jaws of life.  My left upper arm was all scratched up from bumping the tree.

I have no memory of the event.

From what witnesses said, my car just immediately turned right from the middle lane, into the rear tire of another car.  It's tough to say what failed, but I suspect rear stay on lower control arm.  It's amazing how the tie rod on the upper a-arm and steering held up, and the mounts to the frame stayed solid, despite 3/8 bolts and a section of frame being ripped completely off.  But who knows.  This was supposed to be my last ride, before updating the front suspension to speedway metric spindles, new adjustable upper and boxed lower control arms, Trans-Am style etc..  I'll admit, that I've had seen flex under hard braking and recently had a nice off course spin at Dominion Raceway when my front master cylinder seal failed.

Who knows.  Once I get out of the wheelchair I will take a closer look.  AND Once i get onto the build table I'll be able to tell if frame is salvageable.  Not sure if a stalker XL with enhanced roll cage/side impact protection in order, or if it best to find an rx8 or miata shell to build off of.  I am toying with the idea of an 8 speed auto and awd, sorta along the same lines as Andy Forrest's LS7 Westie.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

I am well on my way to full recovery.  I just gotta stay in wheelchair 12 weeks to heal.  But everything works and my eyes are back to normal, focusing on both near and far..

Almost back to normal.  Starting tear down tomorrow.  I'll consider getting a salvage title if anyone might be interested in the chassis less engine.

Consider sale of everything and spares to include Tremec Magnum, then anything less

I've got offers for 2K for the transmission, and 500 for the LS3 controller kit with pedal, so parting out might be best.  I'm just a little slow to tear things apart.
