  1. But also the most rewarding, with bonus points for hitting an open car.
  2. I thought an over-developed sense of humor is a requirement to be a Caterham owner. If not before delivery, definitely after.
  3. It will be good to have another 7 in the area. Excited to see it on the road.
  4. Sorry that I missed the chance to talk with you at Bruce's party. It's the social event of the season. Hopefully you'll find an excuse to come back out during the good weather.
  5. It's to make sure that someone doesn't use the exemption to get a car into the country and then try to license it for the road. Fines are $25,000 per day and possible jail time. Odds of getting caught may not be high, but is it really worth it?
  6. The Jeep Wagoneer was decades before the the Explorer. Even the Cherokee beat Ford by several years.
  7. There is a gentleman in Germany who has put together an international CSR Registry http://csr.informe.com/forum/csr-register-first-evaluation-results-for-the-public-dt543.html
  8. The e-bay ad pretty well describes Jon's Caterham history. Looks like he is finally liquidating his remaining cars and parts.
  9. In case you have not already read, these may be of help to you: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/218/~/requirements-for-importing-a-vehicle-%2F-vehicle-parts and https://www.nhtsa.gov/importing-vehicle .
  10. If the car was originally registered out of the U.S., and is less than 25 years old, you will likely have problems with multiple agencies. If you provide, or have provided, false info to get the car into the country the government shutdown could be a blessing for you. Or, you will be in a massive world of hurt. If it has never been registered before, and arrived in the US as parts (kit), you should have a Manufacturer's Statement (or Certificate) of Origin. Take that, and all your receipts for parts, assembly, etc to your state licencing agency. You might want to call them first to confirm exactly what you need because each state is very different. Good luck.
  11. Our Outback closed recently. Now has easy parking but slow service.
  12. This brief Hemmings article https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2018/12/16/definitely-a-genius-allegedly-a-rogue-the-secret-life-of-colin-chapman/?refer=news has several video links, as well as some 7s and other Lotuses for sale.
  13. Out of curiosity, is this because you are a traditionalist or based on the time you have spent driving CSRs?
  14. For anyone who may be interested in a brief history of the Caterham CSR https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1771698#message1
  15. I have a set from Beachman Racing http://www.beachmanracing.com that I have been very pleased with. They are very solid and have no vibration.
  16. The seller mentions everything except info about the car.
  17. Once the parts are assembled and registered as a car anywhere, it's a car forever and the EPA & NHTSA won't let it in for 25 years. The same situation for people who want to bring in non-compliant cars from any foreign country.
  18. Looks like Caterhams are quite the relative bargain. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14287&stc=1
  19. Congrats and have fun. It Will be an experience like no other.
  20. Super 7 Cars http://www.super7cars.com describes themselves as the manufacturer of all Caterhams for Canada. Their site (with a 2009 copyright date) only shows the 260 version of the CSR. However, not inconceivable that a 200 could make it into the country.
  21. First off, the info shows this as a 200hp CSR, with the performance figures of the Superlight CSR260. If comparing prices to other CSRs, make sure you are consistent. Maybe more importantly, the CSR Registry http://csr.informe.com/forum/csr-register-first-evaluation-results-for-the-public-dt543.html does not show that any 200s were sold in Canada, though totals could have been too few to make the list.
  22. For most people, height isn't an issue when fitting into a Caterham, it's their width. A good diet and regular exercise means an S3 could work for you. A few too many biscuits or gummi bears and you won't have a chance.
