  1. Hi Aaron, I do not have a BEC but I do have a 7 and if you want to check it out then let me know. I live north of you in Ventura and if your up this way let me know and I will get the 7 out as it sits in the garage way to much and needs to be driven more often.
  2. Hi Michael, Any good upholstery shop should be able to make you one that will fit your car and you could even have them trick it out for you.
  3. Hay KiwiBirkin, Hope your OK after today's (06/13/11) 6.0 quake that we are just hearing about here in the States. Sounds as if Christchurch is getting taken to the ground with all of the old damage and the new damage. Stay safe.
  4. I don't know for sure how many vehicles Toyota sold in the USA compared to GM but for 2010 but Toyota did sell in the USA 1,763,595 while GM was restructuring and the numbers for GM are not readily available to my knowledge for GM for the 2010 model year. I do know that GM is much more diverse than Toyota and I do believe they employ a lot more people worldwide than Toyota dose and is one of the reasons that the Federal Government did what they did to keep GM from going under even if I do not think it was the correct thing to do especially the way that the FED went about doing it. Only time will tell if it was the correct thing to do or if the Fed will have to do a bailout again like they did with Chrysler in the past.
  5. Yep I know what you are saying as I am in the same boat. Already to many irons in way to many fires and trying to cut back.
  6. Looks like your having fun with your 7 as it should be.
  7. So Kitcat, How about throwing your hat into the pool for President or Secretary.
  8. I (Martin) have to agree with slngsht and I decline any position for me as one needs to be able to devote the time to the club and group and my schedule just dose not accommodate that at this time. Hope that the above makes scene. I do second slngsht as the treasure because he honest and he has the ability and he has said he is willing to do it.
  9. Now that is funny...
  10. Things to do: Before leaving your residents make sure you have emptied everything out of the car this includes the glove box and under the seats...don't want anything flying out and startling you or your instructor when driving. Ask questions of the instructors when being shown or told how to do things for better understanding. Do not think you know how to drive a car at speed...anyone can go fast but quick and safe and smooth are very hard and take lots of practice. Drive as smooth as you can and break hard before turning to keep the car in balance. Try to be consistent with how you do things while driving the car. Pay ATTENTION and LISTEN to what the instructors say. Have FUN and enjoy yourself.
  11. That is just wild and crazy at the same time. Did not expect to see all of the overhead tarps....just amazing.
  12. Hi Wendell, I do not have the same engine but have a similar setup that puts the header close to the master cylinder and clutch cylinder and the front brake like runs directly under the header and I do not have any issues with the way it is setup and I do not think you will either as there should be enough airflow through the engine compartment to keep the temp under control around the master cylinder and brake lines. Here is a link to a couple photos of how my exhaust is routed...hope this helps. https://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/ALotus7Replica#5076691058715388386 https://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/ALotus7Replica#5076694103847203554
  13. Any lower and that aircrew (pilot and reo) would have been taxiing on the ground or at least trying hard too......
  14. Hi Tom, Nice save.....keeping it straight when departing off the track surface is always the safest way to depart the track as that gives you the ability to turn away or deflect into a barricade if that is the last resort. That is a nice track and looks like it is very well maintained and a good track to have fun at with any car.
  15. No even here in California people stare and look all the time at any 7 as they are rare even here where their are a number of them on the road. Wait till you go into a gas station you will find that it will take you a while to get out as most people will come up and start asking questions about your car and you will wind up having to say that you have to go just to get out of the gas station. It's part of 7 ownership and part of the enjoyment of having a car that is not that common. Have fun and enjoy your new car as they are a lot of fun even on a short drive just around the block.
  16. Cool...glad to know that Frankn7 will be alive again at some point even if it becomes an off-road monster.....
  17. Nice 7. The GoPro sure makes the nose look very long.....neat to see the people on the street all turned to look at your new ride especially the kid with the red shirt on the bike...
  18. Wow Mazda, Where did you find the new frame..... Looks like you will be driving from the right side or should I say the wrong side :smilielol5: What has happened to Frankn7....or will you keep it alive with this frame.
  19. Interesting and amusing comparison.
  20. That is funny. Friends of ours have one in their backyard next to their pool (not as large) in a flower bed as a joke and their dog always barks at it whenever they let the dog into the area by the pool which is actually funny when you think about it as there are not croc's outside of the zoo in this climate zone as it is just to dry. They purchased their concrete croc at the local Green Thumb plant store so they are out there.
  21. You might want to look through the Moss Motors Catalog and Vitoria British Catalog to see if you can match them up. It might also help to post a photo of what you have to help identify it.
  22. Hello Mark, Great read and some good info for anyone that is considering a 7 and lives in California. Glad to hear your enjoying your car and hope to see some photos of your seven in future post. As for 7's here in California they are all over the place and I think you will find that their are other 7 owners all over the state. Here is a link you might also want to look into: http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/chat/index.php
  23. Just looked at the photos and it looks like the person who is doing the repair is doing a good job of it and rather quickly.
  24. Here is what they need as seen in another clip. Just kidding but it would not have bottomed out.
  25. Kitcat, Check for loose electrical connections to the ignition system even the key switch. Hope this helps and you find what is giving you issues.
