Best 7 Configuration for Everyday & Blats
MHKflyer52 replied to Tony's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Tony, This would be a good car for anyone wanting a nice 7 that can be use as a street car and having fun. Here is the link: http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5952 My belief this 7 would be a good one for anyone. -
Just different and I bet it would leak oil like a old radial aircraft engine from the valve guides and rocker covers and fouling plugs like crazy and smoke like a fogger when first started after being run and shut down. Brings back old memories of wiping the oil up from under the C2-A and C-131 I use to fly and how the maintenance crews were always washing the engines with solvent to get the oil off them so they could work on them without getting covered from the dripping oil and hanging a little catch can under the bottom exhaust stacks to catch oil leaking out of the cylinder from being upside down. Nothing like a big old Pratt and Whitney Radial engine for a gray blue smoke startup when cold.

Vogue, I have to agree with you and I feel you car is a good value and will be for someone and it will take time but will sell to the correct person. Kitcat, Very well put and I have to agree.

Who's is this? Houston Dec 2010 Coffee and Cars
MHKflyer52 replied to boss351's topic in Member Rides
wkeeling, Nice. Miata powered. My car is MGB powered 1800cc, B transmition, B rear diff modified a lot, B front spindles etc..just because that is what I had for a donor and I did not want to have over 1800cc. Knowing now what I do about Miata's I would use a Miata for a donor if I were to build another one mainly because I have one a Miata and it gets driven more than the other cars I have. There are not a lot of us that have scratch built our cars. I like the photo were the car is sitting on jack stands with no upper A-arms or front spindles as that is probably the only way I did not ever support my car when I was building it. I did balance it on a 2"x 6" x 1/4"wall tube down the center to paint the frame. I bet you remember that first drive just like it was yesterday (referring to the photo of you standing next to your car with the 7 SMILE that we all have). :cooldude: -
Brunton Auto change in Ownership
MHKflyer52 replied to Boxologist's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Very interesting. I knew that the US market is a small portion but I would never have guessed that Caterham production target was for that many cars a year since it has now European Type Approval. I wonder if most of their sales are kits or turnkey vehicles. -
Brunton Auto change in Ownership

Steve I do not know but I do think that the Stalker has as many or more cars here in the USA in the last ten years than Caterham has in the same time frame. Some where I read that Caterham only produces four cars a month and that is for their total production but I cannot find were I read that and it would be interesting to know just how many are produced and how many come to the USA. I am surprised as I would have guess that they have produced about 200 cars/kits over the years they have been in business. I wonder just how many drivable 7's (all variations) there are in the USA. My guess would be 475 to 500 total. I wonder just how many Caterham’s have been produced worldwide also. -

Brunton Auto change in Ownership
MHKflyer52 replied to Boxologist's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Brunton Auto started with a prototype by car enthusiast, Dennis Brunton, back in 2001. Since then, Stalker's and SuperStalkers(Super Charged V6's) and now Stalker V8's have been rolling out of the modest Bradenton Florida garage. In July of 2010 Brunton's frame master, Scott Minehart, took the reins. With the help of his support team he plans on continued growth for the Brunton Stalker and it's enthusiasts, backed by Brunton's quality and unbeatable value. -

Hi Steve, Your photo gallery is really great and some of the photos look as if they are models and some photos are just outstanding with beautiful cars and great backrounds taken by people that know how to capture that special look with a camera. Needless to say I like your link and have checked it at least twice a day since your first post to just see the new photos that have been posted in you link. Outstanding! Just Outstanding! In the last photo that I posted of the back of the Atom the 7 in front of it is Orange and yes Al it is now supporting an aero windshield and Morgan had a huge smile on his face when I said hello to him. He said that it sure dose make a big difference in how the car gets to speed and he likes it a lot. The second photo is of a one of RR 1952 right hand drive roadster with a Carson top. So quiet when running that you had to listen hard to hear it running.....just beautiful....The gent behind the RR in the photo is the owners mechanic and chauffeur….must be nice. Well here is just a couple of the photos from todays drive that I took so don't laugh to hard as I am not a photographer. Turned out to be a nice day but it was cold this morning 39 degrees (yes I know that is not cold) when I left the house to head to the meeting point for the start of the drive with the Vintage Motoring Group. I post up a link later when the others on the run post up their photos as we do have some folks that can really take some good photos.

Well I got the 7 out today as it was clear blue skies and by noon the temp was up to just over 50 degrees here in Ventura, CA. and when for a nice drive and visited a number of my friends (yes I do have friends that will acknowledge me as a friend) and got the car ready for the New Years Day Run that the Vintage Motoring Forum dose every new year’s day. I will put some photos up tomorrow after the run for all of the folks that are snow bound or have put their car away for the winter. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Just my belief but due to the angles shown in that clip that was just a very good camera with a very good lenses most likely mounted on a stand or a good telescope with video recording ability. The reason that I say that is at 2:22 time stamp the angle goes up to show the top of the ridge line and then zooms in to show a peak at 2:28 time stamp. I would bet it might have been a very good portable telescope normally used to look at the stars and planets with video recording ability and not a satellite but that is my belief and yes I do believe that there are satellites that can look down and see things that clearly also but not in that clip to stationary for one reason besides the expense and resources needed to do that would be very very big. Very Cool though.

That truly is amazing and way beyond my understanding. Very Cool.

Well here are the first two autocross events for the 2011 season being put on by the Santa Barbara Region Porsche Club. Both of these events are open to all who sign up no matter what the make of auto even if it is not a Porsche. The first event is at the Earl Warren Fair Grounds in Santa Barbara, CA. and is on March 20, 2011. The second event is at the Camarillo Airport in Camarillo, CA. and is on April 30, 2011. These events fill up fast and are a lot of fun to participate in or just watch. They are also a good way to learn the limits of your car and your driving abilities within a safe and controlled area and to just have fun. Hopefully I will see some of you at either of these two events in the coming new year so start to plain now. If you have questions please contact either Dan Byers or Martin Keller the Co-Chairs for these events. E-mail Dan at dan_byers@mac.com E-Mail Martin at MHKflyer52@gmail.com
