  1. With (more than) a little help from a friend the engine and transmission are back in the car. Since I replaced the pan gasket, the motor is completely empty of oil. I was thinking about filling the oil filter before installing it. I am planning on running the starter some before connecting the ignition. 10 seconds?
  2. Looking at the roll hoop, I'm guessing they didn't have broom sticks.
  3. I'm not sure the weight is a problem. it looks to be powered by a V8.
  4. I'm guessing it's going to be hanging under the rear of the car. Right?
  5. Happy New Year y'all :cooldude: :jester:

    Broon F8

Broon F8, for when you have tooooo much money.
  7. So, what did you do next?
  8. How much weight are you planning on shipping?
  9. I thought about attempting to replace the pan gasket, but there are at least 2 bolts behind the bellhousing shield that could not be accessed without separating the engine form the tranny. I am pondering on how to modify the shield to remove the lower portion with everything still together. The gap in the shield is how I found it, I'm not sure what the purpose is.
  10. My crossflow has leaked oil from the pan gasket. I have replaced the gasket since the engine came out due to tranny work. I used Permatex #2, old school stuff. No results yet, it's still on the engine stand. My tranny mechanic told me it wasn't leaking, it was marking it's territory.
  11. Check this link out. http://oldcarcityusa.com/ I haven't visited it yet, but it's on my list.
  12. How many miles are on the engine? Were they all on unleaded fuel? How did you notice a change/problem?
  13. Check out the documentary on how they did it.
  14. There's also the heated "hoody" from Milwaukee Power Tools. It also comes in gray. http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless/2370
  15. I say something like that flying off the track on the back straight at Road Atlanta. It was out of a GTO class Camaro with an exploding transmission. The flywheel also exited at a great rate and fortunately missed the corner station and disappeared into the woods.
  16. I've gotten a few items imported and it is a lot higher then domestic rates. I would guess 75 to 100 pounds British Sterling. I have (I think) the same type 2 4 speed you have. My rebuilder couldn't find parts (syncros), but they weren't the problem. It was needle bearings between the input and main shaft that were bad. He located a 5 speed in Texas that could fit in, but it would require a bell housing. It totaled up to $4000. On top of that I would have to get the drive shaft modified along with the shift linkage. I passed on the swap.
  17. It looks that way to me also. But I wonder about the springs, they may be lower rated because there looks like a lot of air above the rears also and when it has occupants it looks "better". Or my car is just lower than that one.
  18. Check this link http://www.burtonpower.com/parts-by-category/transmission-clutch-wheels/bell-housings/bellhousing-rs2000-dual-lhd-rhd-bh3.html It looks like it gives you the option on which side the starter and clutch cable may be fitted.
  19. Sometime in the '80's there was the Ford GTP Mustang. It had the "front mid-engine" layout. It was fast and fun to watch, but the mechanics said it was a pain to work on. The engine was buried in the middle and access was a stretch. http://www.favcars.com/mustang-gtp-1983-photos-33706
  20. No room for error! :driving: :ack:
