  1. Today I disconnected the rear sway bar so I can see how that changes the way the car drives at the next autocross on Saturday. Will be interesting. Very easy to connect, disconnect and adjust.
  2. I have a quick question before I have a shop work on calibrating and cleaning my Weber DCOE 40s. Is it normal to have the Crossflow engine hesitate and spit when throttling up from idle? Mine is fine when idling and when above 3000 RPM, but in between I get a lot of popping, spitting and hesitating. Some of it is undoubtedly caused by the aggressive cam, but my hope is that the carbs can be set up so it is smoother on the road and in traffic. Thanks/Anker
  3. Basically, there are autocrosses every weekend in summer, both Saturday and Sunday.
  4. We had 8 runs, which is fewer than normal - caused by having the first socially distanced autocross.
  5. It is one of the best in the country. You will have a blast! The courses laid out can be very fast. On my Porsche Boxster S I have hit the rev limiter in second.
  6. Mine is made out of flatiron bar, bolted into the tube frame.
  7. The first run I had a huge spin. At the end of the day I was doing better, but now as well as I would have liked. There were actually two Caterham's on the course. Great to meet Jeff and see his ride.
  8. I have a 1987 LHD S3 with a hydraulic clutch. I just dealt with the fact that there was almost no travel from clutch pedal fully depressed to beginning to grab. It turned out that someone had used a standard nut as a lock nut on the slave adjustment where a thin lock nut should have been used. Problem fixed!
  9. A textbook case of too many cooks!
  10. So do I, It wasn't meant as criticism! :flag:
  11. Did you notice that the car is LHD?
  12. I have my front plate in the compartment over the tank with a set of tie wraps. If I get stopped I'll say that it just fell off, bracket broke, and tie it to the front grill.
  13. What's the issue with your rear suspension? If you have a rear roll bar and it is lifting a wheel on turns disconnect the roll bar or move the connection further out to make it weaker!
  14. The pedals don't work with rolling your foot. The weird plate is for your heel. You press the brake with the ball of your foot and the throttle pedal with your heel.
  15. I would not trust the pictures at all. The pictured car is RHD, and I am sure the car being sold is LHD.
  16. Good luck! I am doing the same in two weeks! If you can, take some GoPro video!
  17. That looks like a Ford long shaft starter motor. I have a couple of those sitting around.
  18. Also check the state of the ring gear on the flywheel, but usually it is the starter gear that gets chewed up.
  19. Do like the F1 drivers who miss a turn. Spin the rear wheels and do an immediate 180!
  20. I have been a member of PCA for 4 years and a member of the Northeast region board for 3 years. No snobbery here, which is surprising. You would think the 911 owners would look down on lowly Boxsters and 944s.
  21. It tool a re-read to realize that you weren't in favor of their practice. :-) Anker
  22. I would also be surprised if they don't require a HANS device with any harness.
  23. Consider buying the "antique" helmet that I use to prevent my glasses and hearing aids from blowing off! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073HSRNWG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  24. Back until the 80's all cars had carbs and drove between low and high altitudes all the time. You won't have a problem.
  25. I just bought a 180 degree switch from Pegasus https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=10284 with a M22 adapter so it can replace the original https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=28243
