Click on the ALL button, then the Load More buttons at the bottom. I see them at the bottom on the third page. There could be more, I just didn't look. -
blip shift limited availability
IamScotticus replied to panamericano's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Can we have a link? I go there, and find everything but these. Then there are other sales outlets offering these designs that aren't on an available for three minutes then gone forever basis. Not liking BS's sales strategy. He has about 5 designs for a car that has a 70 year history and isn't slowing down. The 7 deserves its own sticky portal on his site, along with some other icons. It works for him. Nor for me. -
What are the particulars? PCD? Rim diameter? Width? Offset? Back space? You would be very disappointed to buy a rim to find the calipers dont clear.

There is a cover called a shower cap. It covers more area than a tonneau. https://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/showercap-439-p.asp -
Yes, it's the shape I put my hand on with my father's hand over mine learning to shift. I'm rather sentimental about putting the same transmission in my 7.

New 7 Owner Initial Questions
IamScotticus replied to Randy Flowers's topic in General Sevens Discussion
There have been many examples of 7 skins eroding at the frame rails. It took several decades. Im not going to insist thst any of us will see our Cats falling apart during our ownerships, but these things are just good practices whenever aluminum is attached to steel and a current is introduced. These cars tend to sit for months, years. Just disconnect the battery for storage. Especially for the coolant and pump. Aluminum pumps can corrode because the coolant is a conductor. -

These 7s built like aircraft and aluminum boats. Actually, they're built worse than planes and boats. There is very little built-in corrosion abatement. They are susceptible to electrolysys and corrosion . For long term care, and to ensure you're not chasing down electrical problems in a few years, understand why battery isolation, when not using the car, is a good practice. https://www.twi-global.com/technical-knowledge/faqs/faq-what-is-galvanic-corrosion-and-how-can-it-be-avoided -

AGM has specific maintenance cycle requirements. Most smart chargers (should) have that function. https://lifelinebatteries.com/blog/4-effective-ways-to-maintain-your-agm-battery-and-keep-it-durable/ -

Know what kind of battery you have. If it's an AGM type, not MUST use an AGM charger or one with an AGM function. Use the correct charger for the battery you have. The days of lead acid battery and one charger are over. A good smart charger is the NOCO Genius series. Next, if a battery becomes fully discharged, you can't simply jump it and run. It needs a full deep charge. Have a battery cut-off installed to fully isolate the battery from everything except a charger. Since you have an engine with electronic management, you might have some memory power requirements to consider with a cut-off installation. For me personally, I would install a 12V accessory port under the scuttle for a charging port. It can double as accessory power if needed. -
For balance it shouldn't matter much. For measuring volume, restrictions might have to be adjusted for, if they aren't already.

Ok, which gauge do you like?

Comments on the RX-7 axle by Graham "First Gen Mazda RX7. Great little axle, if you get the one from the GSL-SE you get disk brakes and a LSD. The 4.076 ratio is just about perfect for a 7, giving a good top speed in you 1:1 gear. It is strong and very light."

What is an English axle? This is probably common knowledge in UK, but here? All I know is there are English and Atlas. I could spend hours reading up on them. The parts and aftermarket support are greater for these than the other axles used in 7s. What cars used these and are they found in the states? Weight, PCD, etc?

Here is good Standard 10 help from @Oddbrit "From earlier posts you might remember that I was having issues with my Series 2 (Standard 10) rear axle. The previous owner had drilled out the stud holes in order to fit studs appropriate for the Ford Escort wheels he was using. I want to return the car to it's original configuration with narrow fender and Triumph Herald rims. I found new hubs from a Standard 10 supplies in England but did not want to pay the price. So I starting thinking that Triumph probably did not just use these hubs on Standard 10 so starting thinking of other similar sized cars in the Triumph family at that time. My thoughts went to Heralds and Spitfire but those had independent rear axles. Looked at the Moss catalog and saw they still used a taper axle with keyway for fitment. So today I took one of my Standard 10 hubs to our local British used parts supplier and compared to a Spitfire hub. BINGO! Perfect match and $10 each so I was quite happy! Also found the oil seal and paper retainer plate gasket also interchange." Thanks for the extra effort.

When you say bezel, are you also referring to the bowls? Lucas or Cibie? I would upgrade the lamps.

McGooham wore these in blue on the Prisoner. Get your boating Blazer. -
No practical experience. Just repeating information. You are correct. Caterpillar uses a yellow. Around here Cat is a common abbreviation for Caterham. TONKA is a distinctive yellow also. As for me, I will look for a hardware store rattle can paint. I consider the skill set and paint availability to be able to do spot repairs, more reasonable than an exotic $$$ professional paint job. One gash and you're stuck with it. Or not. It's up to you. My signature line now states the reality of what a 7 really is. It's very difficult to not damage it, so just accept now that repairs are in your future.

Didn't you prefer the Carter P90091?

This info was previously provided by Mr. Phipps: Cterham green-1 litre using Exalta Centeri (formerly DuPont) paints. AM 32=277 gr AM 43=399 gr AM6=478 gr AM1=488 gr AK100=977 gr Mr Phipps also mentioned Mercedes Sunburst Yellow 1685 is almost identical to Cat yellow and Ditzler #46446/GN29 is similar to Cat green BTW guys, this is a lot of good info (mine as well) being lost under an irrelevant thread category and subject line. Im always considering the next guy looking for the information. We want Information.
