  1. I'm thinking second hand imported 7's will get hit really hard. Seeing upwards of 40% tariffs on a bargain 7 @ 22,000 would be 31k. Yikes
  2. @JohnCh is it possible to sticky this or put it into the knowledge zone? Lot of great info here.
  3. I've been down this rabbit hole for a little bit now; I'm looking to grab ITB's for my car. Note, it is a separate engine, however the mechanic's are the same. For the Jenvey, you will need to adapt it to your car. The engine builder of my car, who has a PhD in something smart, recommends doing some changes to these out of the box. DVAPower website If you scroll to the Throttle Bodies section, you will see what I mean, some bending, drilling etc. There is also the aspect of tuning. I am lucky that my ECU plugs directly into my harness, without requiring any cutting and uses all caterham wiring loom sensors etc. I am lucky in that there is an adaptor to the S3 harness that I have, and the TPS is reusable. Having done it a few times with my ECU, I'll need to reset my TPS, in addition to adjusting injector dwell / pulse width, you'll also need to double check your ignition advance. There are small tweaks which you can do but it requires an understanding of the software. i'm admittedly not great at this, but it helps to understand it. Jenvey should have an adaptor to your harness where you plug it in, you can ask for it.
  4. Ive got the FIA bar with a half hood on an S3. I can confirm it fits a little loose/long. I'm with @Vovchandr, the padding is more of a mental support than an actual safety tool. Speaking of safety, I'd thinl the foam cover is worse (could retain water) and encourage rust. I'd ditch it, order the S3 half hood and call it a day. Your wife's height may require a cross bar pad or some sort of generic head support from jegs, if so desired.
  5. Yes, with my emerald, I turn key to on, fuel pump primes, then start. You might want to check your map for fueling on start up. I believe mine is set fairly rich to compensate for what MV8 has mentioned above.
  6. Dave walker does a free remote session to help you get the car running. I highly recommend using him. There's a contact on the emerald website. Looking forward to this.
  7. @CBuff and @BlakeJ swung by today. They motivated me to finish my horn wiring + helped organize the garage a bit. I owe ya! Will drag the desktop PC to the garage tomorrow when the rain starts, and see if I can get into the ECU. I need to do the following: 1. check the voltage curve on the Wideband O2 2. check the output to the OBD2 gauge 3. set the fuel map to closed loop 4. Unplug the Roll over sensor (thanks @BlakeJ), so I can build up oil pressure 5. Maybe start, depending on the weather.
  8. You found an Emerald tuner in the states? Please share. I'm on an island out here.
  9. I have a few DVA Maps for the K series. PM me if you need one you can start work on.
  10. Bumping this thread to the front page for motivation for everyone. Spring is around the corner.
  11. Slick install. Looking forward to how you enjoy it.
  12. Agreed with the majority above: 1. I take hood off when people at the show show interest in the car. You tell them the car is super light, then ask them to hold the hood. Then they get it. Their face is worth it. 2. Its thin aluminum, looking at it funny will bump it. Hammers or PDR kit will pull dents out. These cars arent worth a lot of money, if it doesnt have a few bumps, i'm not driving it enough. Since you're close ish, I can lend you my PDR kit. 3. Life is short, things are passing. Kids are the future, let them sit. I just dont want them getting burned. Car show pics someone took. Cars & Crumpets - May 26, 2024 - Photo Album it was fun edit; you got me with burned first
  13. If i had the money to drop: meteor motorsport. I think westermann does a kit as well. Might be worth emailing either to see if they can do a raised spring height kit.
  14. Dang, sorry to hear this. Want me to call your boss and tell him you need less travel time?
  15. Since its a euro zetec, might be worth looking into the Emerald. I have one. Most tuners here don't know how to use it. It is however super easy to use. Interface is simple and handles a lot of varied euro engines. Base maps are decent. Will definitely need to ride around with a laptop, but not unreasonable to learn and tune.
  16. Did this when I redid my rear end a few years ago. Use the lock washer and the washer.
  17. Underrated comment. I salute you. I agree with nsx guy. Ecu isn't setup properly and looking through your photos, it my make sense to redo the entire wiring harness and take your time going through it.
  18. Yep. Like riding a motorcycle. Assume no one sees you. The 3rd brake light up high and angled up definitely helps a good amount. I've got some super reflective 3M tape on my motorcycle cases. It helps a lot at night.
  19. I do a decent amount of rain driving as the 7 is my daily when the weather is above 50. I had to take a video in a thunderstorm to show some friends that the car is OK in the rain. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6hkViNJDre/?igsh=MXM3OHF0OXVnNTU3eg==
  20. @Croc need more on that bookkeeping job. How is inventory treated? @Vovchandr has a job? I thought he volunteered at blipshift to raise their click through rates. @Reiver glad you're enjoying it. Soon you'll be spending so little time in the 911 it will be time to let it move on. 7 > 911. I need to rebuild my shed. Zoning allows a 10 x 20 maximum footprint... I can definitely fit more cars in that right?
  21. We believe in you. Do it. I won't tell your family. Do it for them. Doooooo it. @Vovchandr supports me spending your money.
  22. Might be time for a sacrificial aluminum whisker somewhere, rather have a 3 inch strip of aluminum scrape vs the sump.
  23. Great choices. How is the zenos?
  24. There aren't many cars that compete at 70k. Porsches are a dime a dozen. Good cars but zero emotion for me. Rules out 911 and cayman etc. Newer car? Probably an elise/exige. Miata? Ultima Evo? Maybe an old mustang? They've always been on the list. I think 1930s-1950s European cars will fall a bit in the future, perhaps there's something exciting there.
  25. I was humoring a new build. $70 and up.
