  1. Slow dude, not slow car repair. New injector on order to replace the lean plug. If anyone wants to come huff gas fumes in my garage for a week, you're welcome.
  2. She runs! (On 3 cyl). Pulled plug. It's lean. Rest are fine. Pulled injector loom and checked continuity. 0.13-0.16 ohms, so they're good. Ordered a pin tool to test car loom. Pulled injector, will try and clean it.
  3. Sigma!
  4. Pickles, we have a new england group chat. Pm me if you need an extra set of hands getting the motor in.
  5. Slowly getting there. Replaced wires and connectors on the starter. Got new battery in, and had to extend some wiring to fit the new battery. Car primes and cranks. Next step is to check ecu for spark. Slowly getting there.
  6. Update again, after much searching and discussion with UK group chat. One of the members pointed out my misfiring, loss of power etc could be driven by the master cutoff switch. For giggles, I bought a new one. See the below video, but the relays in the original switch are lose and wiggling. I have the vehicle on a tender and will hopefully get a start sometime this week. If this is the cause of the issue I have been chasing for over a year, I will come back and update this post with key search terms for someone else who may be struggling with this.
  7. Welcome. I'm in K series hell right now (lovingly). If you have k series questions, feel free to PM me. They're great motors.
  8. Hmmm. I had magnecor make custom EU2 leads. Are you working with Heather? They were able to find a boot which worked based on measurements i sent them.
  9. I use noco or odyssey. The NOCO switches between lead acid, agm, and li-ion. I found the li-ion not great, so i used odyssey. It is a much smarter charger for li-ion. I have an extra noco genius one (I switched from a one battery charger to a two car setup to run a motorcycle as well). Make me an offer and I'll ship it out next weekend.
  10. DVA K series are worth it. Get this car on an emerald and one of Dave's maps will open it up a bit more.
  11. Love mine. Full hood i drove through last winter until it showed in February. Having roof and heater makes the business case for the car greater. @CBuff and @Vovchandr are doing it right. We need to convince the other Northeasterners of the way.
  12. Long overdue update on this. Relay junctions weren't delivering power to accessories correctly and draining the battery. Pulled everything out and re wired a simple bus bar, with a simple power switch on/off for the power to this. Wideband is connected, and ECU configured to read it properly. Went to start the car and the battery is flat; starter wires are very brittle. Going to get a new battery (Banner Starting bull is 5 years old), and throw new power cables to starter. Hopefully this will fix it. I noticed the alternator ground bolt was loose. I am wondering if this may be the cause of the voltage issues with the misfire on the sensors. I've ordered a backup EU2 engine loom in preparation for the above fixes not fixing everything. The car is 28 years old and has had 10 prior owners. Just trying to bring it back bit by bit.
  13. I have cad files for these mounts. If you have a 3d printer near you, you can get them for cheap. Most 3D print shops will run you 60$ or so plus shipping. May be better to check kit car direct.
  14. It was confirmed that vehicles older than 25 years will not be subject to the tariffs. Classic Cars Won't Be Affected by Trump's 25-Percent Automotive Tariff
  15. I'm thinking second hand imported 7's will get hit really hard. Seeing upwards of 40% tariffs on a bargain 7 @ 22,000 would be 31k. Yikes
  16. @JohnCh is it possible to sticky this or put it into the knowledge zone? Lot of great info here.
  17. I've been down this rabbit hole for a little bit now; I'm looking to grab ITB's for my car. Note, it is a separate engine, however the mechanic's are the same. For the Jenvey, you will need to adapt it to your car. The engine builder of my car, who has a PhD in something smart, recommends doing some changes to these out of the box. DVAPower website If you scroll to the Throttle Bodies section, you will see what I mean, some bending, drilling etc. There is also the aspect of tuning. I am lucky that my ECU plugs directly into my harness, without requiring any cutting and uses all caterham wiring loom sensors etc. I am lucky in that there is an adaptor to the S3 harness that I have, and the TPS is reusable. Having done it a few times with my ECU, I'll need to reset my TPS, in addition to adjusting injector dwell / pulse width, you'll also need to double check your ignition advance. There are small tweaks which you can do but it requires an understanding of the software. i'm admittedly not great at this, but it helps to understand it. Jenvey should have an adaptor to your harness where you plug it in, you can ask for it.
  18. Ive got the FIA bar with a half hood on an S3. I can confirm it fits a little loose/long. I'm with @Vovchandr, the padding is more of a mental support than an actual safety tool. Speaking of safety, I'd thinl the foam cover is worse (could retain water) and encourage rust. I'd ditch it, order the S3 half hood and call it a day. Your wife's height may require a cross bar pad or some sort of generic head support from jegs, if so desired.
  19. Yes, with my emerald, I turn key to on, fuel pump primes, then start. You might want to check your map for fueling on start up. I believe mine is set fairly rich to compensate for what MV8 has mentioned above.
  20. Dave walker does a free remote session to help you get the car running. I highly recommend using him. There's a contact on the emerald website. Looking forward to this.
  21. @CBuff and @BlakeJ swung by today. They motivated me to finish my horn wiring + helped organize the garage a bit. I owe ya! Will drag the desktop PC to the garage tomorrow when the rain starts, and see if I can get into the ECU. I need to do the following: 1. check the voltage curve on the Wideband O2 2. check the output to the OBD2 gauge 3. set the fuel map to closed loop 4. Unplug the Roll over sensor (thanks @BlakeJ), so I can build up oil pressure 5. Maybe start, depending on the weather.
  22. You found an Emerald tuner in the states? Please share. I'm on an island out here.
  23. I have a few DVA Maps for the K series. PM me if you need one you can start work on.
  24. Bumping this thread to the front page for motivation for everyone. Spring is around the corner.
  25. Slick install. Looking forward to how you enjoy it.
