  1. Way to go!!! I'll drive down to jersey
  2. Glad to hear you're still looking Jay... be patient and the right car will come along sooner (or build your own a little later) p.
  3. Lots of ear plugs, also make sure you have good eye protection and stop to get out and stretch every 1-2 hours for safety (no exceptions). I also think nothing beats a helmet for protection from the wind buffeting. As much as I love my birkin i sometimes think it was designed to optimize wind buffeting of the driver's head. Please post pictures of your journey for all of us to vicariously enjoy!!
  4. Retro. What year Birkin was this made for? the former S3 narrow body, new S3 narrow body (SS3) or wide body (SSXS)? How high is it (measured from the bottom of the frame)? cheers P.
  5. Rich IIRC there are a few stalkers, caterhams, lotii and at least one westfield under construction in MA. Also several caterhams and birkins in CT if you don't mind a drive. cheers
  6. I hate to disappoint but your 1st Assumption is wrong: Everyone with these cars is at least a little crazy. I built with support from BirkinDirect and found Tom's support to be flawless. The primary obstacle encountered was container/factory delays from South Africa (also a challenge for the cat folks). I don't know if PA has any unique obstacles to kit building however there are a fair number of cars in Pennsylvania so I expect you're probably ok. It's too bad you weren't at the annual usa7s Fourth of July gathering to see a good sampling of caterhams, birkins, westfields, and others. Good luck with your search, pm me if you'd like to discuss my experience further P.
  7. My advice: Save'em... second you part with those nuts you'll need one. good luck p.
