  2. Call Tom carlin in Colorado I think he's got some of the new wide body frames on hand.
  3. Be careful of frostbite. I learned this (a good way) that wind chill will take a nice evening blat in the fall and freeze your left arm. Always use protection, and beware the salt. cheers p.
  4. This doesn't involve balls but as it relates to fuel what do people think of this? http://bangshift.com/general-news/new-products/must-see-holley-just-changed-fuel-system-game-big-way/

Call Tom Carlin at BirkinDirect in Colorado 970.376.5188. I expect he should know (or be able to find out) p.
  6. Maybe "big Heads" fastenters? I couldn't find anyone selling them in the US and ended up ordering from East Coast Fibreglass in the UK.
  7. Crock You are a mad genius, steeling away to your tropical atoll. Here is what you left us with:
  8. Bump... Does anyone have recent experience bringing a registered se7en into CT? I'm led to believe it should be fairly routine and not involve the hoops and bumper bars, but would like to confirm this. Thanks P.
  9. - Caterham logo on a Storker? (I'm not sure who would be more slighted)
  10. This is all a bit surprising since i believe most of the vintage micro-cars and other 3-wheeler's (let alone trikes) are registered as motorcycles. Someone must have a bug up their derrière
  11. Croc: no need to apologize. Another consideration not yet mentioned is time: From personal experience I recommend starting with a kit that's already on the ground here. Otherwise you may end up waiting (an eternity) or with the wrong color car.
  12. I believe MichaelD insightfully pointed out "that we've all got the same screw loose" so this is all the pot calling the kettle black.
  13. You guys wake up too early! - it's only 10am..
  14. I remember them once mentioning a lotus 7 to a caller looking for a bare-bones car. you can all guess the manner in which they recommended the se7en. Their description was spot on: down to the detail that "we've all got the same screw loose" as has been said before on this forum.

  16. :iagree: Brilliant ! reminds me of the origins of the "storker" taking life too seriously I bet your assistants had a good time too.
  17. Is this a new way to add lightness?
  18. Randy PM'd you about the turn signal lights Thanks paul
  19. This thread is beginning to remind me of this classic picture:
  20. If you're doing the unconventional, go all out: can you lift the car into the truck with a sling? Just like putting a sailboat onto a trailer.
  21. I had to replace mine with one from McMaster. http://www.mcmaster.com/#vibration-damping-sandwich-mounts/=ubpycy ended up being 8$ for two and shipping.
  22. Crock my mistake.. it was late at night but I should have realized you and Steve are more interested in Hammond's taupe pensioner-mobile for your next car. :puke:
  23. Blokko - It can be done, please don't give up hope. Chris at sevens&elans may be a good resource - as well as Crock trolling the 4am classified's. While you are here you could quietly slip into a nice tight fitting Birkin or Westfield. Or... Go over to the dark side and get a stalker. The two I've seen we're some of the best sorted se7ens. both driven by exceptional gentlemen.
  24. Until someone with more tricks up their sleeve chimes in.. Does the cat have an access hole in the footwell? my birkin has a 1" hole in the footwell that can be accessed by removing of the pedal box top or via the "inverted driver" position if you're limber. this should at least allow you to see the plug. How do you feel about removing the engine/gear box? I find stuck/stripped bolts to be one of the most frustrating things. The thought of trying to work on my drain plug in situ is bonkers! Consequently I worry it may be necessary to remove the gear box to allow proper access and working room if it truly is stripped. Just think of this as a good way to become intimately acquainted with your seven (pun intended). IIRC there are other threads with advice for engine/trans removal: I find that lowering my engine/gear box assembly onto a dolly is the easiest method (and prevents oil leaking out the back end). good luck!
  25. There was a nice little write up in the local paper of a vintage Caterham. Does anyone know if Aiden is on this forum? He may just be on BlatChat, but seeing as there are so few of us and i think Blokko is new to the Boston area I thought i'd ask... more here Cheers P. Small package, lots of super.pdf
