The drive ended up being 15hrs long w a 1hr stop in Tok, Alaska for dinner at Fast Eddies. Just love their Alaskan burger. Thoughts about the drive would be to check you tires. Mine went up to 25psi which is enough to shake my brains to mush over the frost heaves and road ripples. I ended up lowering them to 19psi w 150mi left to go. Also forgot to bring a glass cleaner so dim headlights and a dirty windshield made for rough night driving. Its mentally tiring to have a vehicle that can't keep pace, we had to keep slowing down to let the uhaul catch up. Convoy include my 7, my uncle's 2002 Honda RSX w/ a badly slipping clutch and a uhaul w/ 17ft box.
Memorable moments:
Chasing the RSX and hitting 95mph when the lower half of my passenger door blows out. Slowed to 65, reached over and re-secured it.
Seeing moose on the side of the road, 9 in total. Honked to let them know I was approaching and kept and eye on them til they were headed away from the road.
May 14th 130a entering Glen Highway mountain roads and praying for my cousin, leading in the uhaul, to pull over before we fall asleep at the wheel.
Uhaul suddenly brakes and a rabbit rolls out from underneath it. Quick evasive saves me from a new nosecone.
