  1. Not sure about what a good crossflow tests at. but the reading should be equal across all cylinders.
  2. Poked around and found this site. Might give you a few ideas. Also extrudabody itb kit w/ megasquirt engine management is another option.
  3. Not sure about the drain hole but you could always suck out the old fluid.
  4. 7 is up and running. Put 110 miles after install and no issues. Pulled a sparkplug and looks like its burning correctly. Thanks for Sean for pointing me towards the Deatsch Werks DW200 fuel pump it works great. It took me longer the modify the fuel pump housing than the whole pump removal and install. Probably would have taken 15 mins with a lathe/drill press with the proper sized bits but I only had a dremel, coarse file and sandpaper. All in all I think I spent 5 hrs modifying the pump housing and 3 hrs R&R the pump.
  5. +1 for a luggage rack using the spare tire mount.
  6. No problems owning it as long as you don't mind a bit of wind and rain. My full weather top has a broken zipper that I still need to get fix so I bought a softbits shower cap to go w/ their half hood. I work for a food vendor and have walmart as my main store so I end up having it parked in their lot for 5-7 hrs at a time. I have more trouble w/ birds than w/ people messing w/ it. One time I even forgot the key in the ignition for 6 hrs when I was working. We have good road maintenance so not many potholes on the main roads. Ask Alaskossie for potholes and wild life issues. There's moose on the road up in Anchorage, but only tiny Sitka deer down in Juneau.
  7. Finally got around to siphoning out the gas and ended up sucking out a seed pod/pinecone. So definitely need to clean out the tank when I pull the pump.
  8. Yep the fuel pressure regulator/sensor is on the front end of the fuel rail. Thanks for the input, I'll get that pump ordered. I'm missing the sunny weather. It finally hit 85 deg after most of May being in the 40s.
  9. Thanks for the tip and the link was very helpful. I've purchased from Rally Sport Direct for subaru parts before and had no issues w/ them. I guess my other question is that there isn't any manual fuel pressure adjustment so will the stock SVT fueling system/ecu keep the psi at the correct levels?
  10. 7 isn't starting when cranked. Swapped around the relays and fuses checked out ok but no pressure shown on fuel pressure tester. Also pulled hose off the fuel rail and cycled the key a few times, no gas flowing. Car starts when starter fluid is sprayed in cylinders. Also sparkplugs show that cylinders 1 & 2 are a bit lean. So it looks like my fuel pump has been slowly failing and now finally decided to die. Is there any easily US sourced fuel pump that will match the stock caterham pump? I was thinking of using a walbro fuel pump but wasn't sure on dimensions and flow rates.
  11. How about adding a little rear toe in? Maybe 1/8"?
  12. So is the SP300R eligable for any US racing series? ALMS? It would be like to it mixing it up w/ other cars on tv.
  13. They didn't even look at my 7 when I registered it (NJ to AK title). It took 30 mins because they had to call another branch for the proper procedures for a kit car.
  14. Was it wearing no eye protection or that the windscreens didn't look like they had a frame?
  15. Were you in an area where a kid with a paintball gun could be hiding? Had a problem with kids sniping passing cars at a nearby park.
  16. If its running rich the sparkplugs could be fouled.
  17. I'm heading back friday night. I'll probably be back for some autox in sept. Visiting family and helping w/ storage move kept my evening fairly busy.
  18. The drive ended up being 15hrs long w a 1hr stop in Tok, Alaska for dinner at Fast Eddies. Just love their Alaskan burger. Thoughts about the drive would be to check you tires. Mine went up to 25psi which is enough to shake my brains to mush over the frost heaves and road ripples. I ended up lowering them to 19psi w 150mi left to go. Also forgot to bring a glass cleaner so dim headlights and a dirty windshield made for rough night driving. Its mentally tiring to have a vehicle that can't keep pace, we had to keep slowing down to let the uhaul catch up. Convoy include my 7, my uncle's 2002 Honda RSX w/ a badly slipping clutch and a uhaul w/ 17ft box. Memorable moments: Chasing the RSX and hitting 95mph when the lower half of my passenger door blows out. Slowed to 65, reached over and re-secured it. Seeing moose on the side of the road, 9 in total. Honked to let them know I was approaching and kept and eye on them til they were headed away from the road. May 14th 130a entering Glen Highway mountain roads and praying for my cousin, leading in the uhaul, to pull over before we fall asleep at the wheel. Uhaul suddenly brakes and a rabbit rolls out from underneath it. Quick evasive saves me from a new nosecone.
  19. My uncle decided to pick up his car and to uhaul all his stuff in storage from Juneau to Anchorage so I decided to join the convoy. May 13 arrived in Haines via ferry from Juneau to start the 750mi drive to Anchorage, Alaska. Didn't have much opportunity to take many pics since it was a straight A to B drive and forgot to charge my digital camera. I was able to take a few pics of a lotus elise from australia in Haines Junction. Here's a link to his blog. A few pics of the elise off my blackberry http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t429/jlumba81/IMG00077-20120513-1448.jpg http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t429/jlumba81/IMG00076-20120513-1447.jpg http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t429/jlumba81/IMG00075-20120513-1447.jpg http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t429/jlumba81/IMG00078-20120513-1449.jpg
  20. I'm having issues with my the rear window zipper on my full weather top. The nylon coil zipper keeps coming undone. I was thinking of changing it to something more durable, maybe a molded plastic zipper (tent zipper)but not sure if it will work with the tight radius turns on the rear window. Has anyone found a better solution?
  21. FYI tirerack now carries toyo tires.
  22. Try putting a rubber hose on the end of the bolts.
  23. Does the S2K use subaru wrx/sti hubs? If so try googling 'subaru 5x100 to 5x114.3 hub conversion. It might give you a better selection of wheels.
  24. Interesting windshield. Is it a lexan cover or actual windshield?
  25. I'm familiar w/ the water/methanol injection system. There's a guy in town that's done a bunch of installs on subarus and a few srt-4 neons. He's an older guy who used to tune buick grand nationals. Skip have you put the 7 on the dyno w the water/meth system yet?
