  1. Its just wishful thinking on my part. Started a new job and don't have enough vacation time to attend the event. Also need to get off my butt and get the transmission and the 7 back on the road. Maybe next year. It would be nice to have a parts swap. Maybe also a dealer selling parts. I, for one, would buy fenders, nosecone, wheels and tires. Also a 7 sized trailer to haul it all back with me. Saving all that $ from shipping costs would make trip more wallet friendly.
  2. Thanks for the reply. That's what I was thinking when I got those avo damper, a bit more spring and damping. Its for my annual drive to visit relatives in Anchorage, Alaska. I take a ferry up to Haines and its a 750ish mile drive to Anchorage. The Alaska Highway is mostly empty so I try to keep a fairly high mph average. The Yukon (Canada) side of the highway has the worse of the frost heaves. With the Seven being so low sometimes its hard to see the bumps and dips until you are right on them.
  3. Almost tempted to drive there to attend. Is this gonna be an annual event?
  4. Hope that $58k isn't for the Seven 160.
  5. So a question to the suspension gurus. What damper adjustment will help with bottoming out when hitting frost heaves at 70-80 mph range? I had issues with the front bottoming out going up the bumps and the rear bottoming going down them. It made for and interesting game of throttle control whenever I saw the ripples in the road. PS forgot to add that its a Caterham SV with the stock suspension. I do have some AVO adjustable shocks that I bought off another member. Still haven't gotten around to getting them rebuilt tho.
  6. The 818 come from their goal of the car to weigh 818kg. So about 1803lbs.
  7. 38 F up here in Alaska and raining. Its been a wet winter.
  8. You can send the oil off to get analyzed. It'll show if there's any bearing material in the oil. Quick google search brought up Blackstone Labs.
  9. Can you just modify the part and put a ramp/angle?
  10. 5x100, too bad caterhams can't use them. I think s2ks and birkins can use them.
  11. Other than contacting them, this is the only pricing guide I found so far. 2011 pricing but $4 for each bearing shell sounds reasonable.
  12. Just curious if anyone has used the WPC treatment on their 7 or other track cars. Here's a video from Motoiq about WPC. Looks like a good way to free up some hp and increase relibility on track toys. WPC website for whoever is interested.
  13. Oh regarding the return ferry. Be careful w ground clearance. If its low tide the ferry ramp angle gets fairly steep.
  14. Well the engine says VTEC on the valve covers so it has a Honda motor in it. Ok found the Xantos website. So its a Lotus 23 replica. I'd do a bit more research to see if the seller has it titled and registered. "Cash only" for "$28,0500 OBO" doesn't sound right.
  15. Eurospeed in Austrailia has some 2nd hand gearboxes. Any car parts will be charged a customs duty fee. I got a customs duty fee of $20.68 for a $567 car part order from the UK. Ebay links for t-9 trans and possible crossflow bellhousing. Almost forgot to mention that you need to check if you need a short or long input shaft. Also few more t-9 links. 16. '05 classic sound like the S3 "standard width" sized nosecone
  17. Quick pic of my Caterham pedal box showing the brake light switch.
  18. Also check your electrical grounds.
  19. Reminds me that in South Africa they used to sell flame thrower on cars to prevent car jacking. South African Car Flamethrower - YouTube
  20. Burning oil usually has a bluish smoke. That little puff of white smoke looks normal. Probably a bit of condensation in the exhaust. If you start your daily driver there should be some water dripping out of the exhaust pipe. I've heard for every gallon of gas you burn a gallon of water comes out the exhaust. If your spark plugs have a whitish buildup on them then it may be a head gasket issue.
  21. There's 3 more Caterhams up here in Alaska. Alaskaossie is a forum member, but the other 2 are not. Found a link for some CSR documents including a wiring diagram.
  22. The wire might be for the gauge light
  23. When overloaded it will kick out all circuits connected to that breaker.
  24. I believe "America 7" referred to a caterham 7 model built for the US market.
  25. t-9 manual link You can get t-9 parts thru British Atlantic Transfer if they have them in stock. I ended up using ebay and Burton Power. I've gotten some parts from Australia too. Got a modified 1st gear from SPO components in the UK.
