  1. Mick you just need to rid yourself of that Exige and get a real Lotus.
  2. I probally will there. Quite possibly with a museum display. Don't forget 3 weeks later Legends of Motorsports in Birmingham. Lotus again featured. Vintage F1, IMSA, CanAm, TransAm...
  3. There has been recent activity on the Facebook page. I also know the Alabama region is doing another one again this year. They pretend to follow the outline of the real ones but, the Birmingham Birtish Car Club who does it never likes to listen to anyone.
  4. Yeah first go around it bid to $17.5 and net reserve and within a week it was relisted. Now it is at 18K, anyone know the story. Also is this what an S4 is now worth? I have seen a few bumping that $20K mark. Does this mean I need to my S4 soon? Does anyone know of a good one for sale?
  5. YEs another big Lotus event at Barbers but this time with the vintage racing and Lotus race to make it proper. This is all HMP doing but we are looking forward to it. Hope to see some old friends and make new ones. Side notes the Mark 8 will be done by then, The 6 and 17 that were being restored have good chances of being done. The Robertson SCCA Championship 7 is in restoration. And our lastest collection addtion will be delivered by then the Lotus Mark IV. Not to mention the dozens of new bikes added.

    Log 30

Al I might be interested on that run. Keep me in the loop because work always has some effect on my LOG plans. Go figure.
  7. Ah yea that looks like the stock e-brake location. Not anywhere else to put it.
  8. I have always felt that the low tow ratings for cars/CUVs is the unibody construction and crumple zones. Most of the things that have a real tow rating in the US are full frame trucks. Which at least seem to have good places to mount hitches and real transmissions. (transmissions seem to be the weakest link in all this towing stuff) This of course does explain why the Euro guys get to tow everything with their small cars, of couse have we all seen the Top Gear episode with the Caravan towing/u-turn/fire content.
  9. Yep you guys need to quote apples to apples. Add shipping charges and most ebay kits push the 200's sometimes over 300. But these are Winged cars. The Cycle fender kits usally run a few dollars more. And of course the holly grail the JPE will command $100 more than the base kits. Prices will vary auction to auction but always check shipping. I have seen assembled kits go for 300-400. Might want to post it closer to the holidays to get the most money. $500 is high however. Quick ebay check 279 plus 41 s/h for a BDR, 315 plus 41 s/h for JPE unassembled. One assembled at 15 cents with 4 days left.
  10. I am the ohter way in Birmingham. My car is just finishing up some engine work and should be on the road within 3 weeks, if you care to come this way. Or make a nice weekend show in Atlana for the wife and I am sure a few 7ners there will help out.

    CMC Miata

CMC? As in Champion Motorcars from a few years back? The kit was sold out of Huntsville and based on Ron Champion's book and sort-of-kind-of was endorsed by him. I have an indirect contact with the guy who ran the company if you might have questions, just won't be a quick answer. They made a great kit with much racing sucess with one of thier cars.
  12. My Tivo is showing that starting on 11/2 AMC has a short 15 minute thingee on the new Prisoner a preview.
  13. From one of the Seven email lists. Graham Nearn passed yesterday. For those who don't knowhe founded Caterham on the Hill ( one of the first Lotus dealers) and later convinced Chapman to continue to build the Lotus 7. Finally in 1974 heboight the rights to continue to build the Lotus 7. Which he did until selling the company a few years back. He will be greatly missed.
  14. What? It was only 2000 or so when Morgan decided to make frames out of something other than wood. Heck it took them until the mid-30s to realize a proper car had 4 wheels. Trendsetters they aren't. But they can make a cool car.
  15. Diana and I looked at going but just can't do 14 hrs for a picnic. we hope to see them at Road Atlanta next month however.
  16. As a matter of fact the were some Japan only Caterham models. And they bought the bulk of the JPE cars.

    iPhone

Hate mine, 100% hate mine. Slow, locks up, drops signal (not calls, just signal) and eats a battery in about 20 minutes when looking for that signal. Apple has been no help. I probally won't make it through the contact before I go back to a Treo. On a plus if you want a kick-ass gold plated iPhone to one up everyone--- http://www.bornrich.org/entry/iphone-3g-limited-diamond-deluxe-gold-edition-by-sayn-design/
  21. I usally think of the introduction of the long-cockpit in 1982 as the first real tampering of Champan's design.
  22. Mazda, One of my SA questions. You are leaving Maryland, driving through VA and ending up in West VA, how is this Northeast? Isn't this more Mid-Atlantic?
  23. Since everyone is talking about Maty's car, Mike Brotherwood also has one listed. That way you guys can combine shipping a 40 foot container doesn't cost much more than a 20 foot. http://www.mikebrotherwood.com/S17.html Always trying to help.
