So I finally picked up another Lotus 7 replica yesterday out of our classifieds HERE, a nice trip up to Boston (not quite home yet), a quick load up, and that is about all the seat time to date in the car. Specs from the craigslist ad 1969 lotus 7 replica Birkin s3 kit Zetec 4cyl 142hp Jenvey throttle bodies Dta ecu 16k miles MA title 5 spd t-9 Once we get home and I find some spare time, I'll be delving into the car. The good new is that it was mechanic owned, so I know the car is up to par. The bad news is, I have never owned a Birkin before and I am starting from scratch knowledge wise. I've already been to the Birkin Direct site and downloaded all of their PDF's, so I guess I will start with those. My only real question right now is, how do I identify what chassis number I have? Have not even had the bonnet off the car yet, so it may be a moot point if their is a chassis plate on the firewall or footbox, but figured I'd ask anyway. Finally, I want to thank Gary for his observations on the car, it helped during our negotiations. Thanks in advance, Bill S. Now I have to find a nice set of driving shoes, as my Merrill hiking sneakers were not the greatest fit when I loaded the car on my trailer yesterday :banghead:

Last September I was walking across my shop floor, the next thing I remember is lying across the customer chairs in my front office and one of my employees calling my wife. Enjoyed a trip to the ER and some pain meds, along with two IV bags of saline solution. The next week was a tough one as they could not do anything else for me. I feel for you. Bill S.

Bruce's Speed Shop on RT46 in Rockaway had worked on my 7 when I was still living there. In fact I just had my FIA up there this past winter, for me to drive the 148 miles each way means I trust him with my life. Shop number is 973-664-0192. Just beware, he has a waiting list, but to me, he is worth the wait. Also beware it is his way or the highway, if you want something questionable done (IE: cheap rubber brake lines when he suggests steel braided for example), he'll probably not take your car in his rotation. He is anal when it comes to this stuff. Bill S. PS: Tell him mrmustang sent you, then tell him I said he does not look a day over 80

You missed the post above yours where he states it is sold

I'd buy it if I wasn't currently unemployed and considering a move to a more "3 seasons" area on the east coast. Bill S.

Seller has yet to respond to my inquiry Then again I thought I had a line on a SPF S1 and that owner in the middle of discussions dropped off the face of the earth :banghead:

older birkin wi/miata drivetrain for sale on ebay
mrmustang replied to Bruce K's topic in Cars For Sale
I stand corrected, as you sent the following after telling me you were not sure what you wanted but was open to offers. "Not sure of value...another birkin on eBay now is bin of 27k and is at 19k plus with five days to go....I set my reserve at 21k....we will see...I suspect it will go beyond reserve since it is so nearly new. Thanks again for the interest" Again I wish you the very best with your sale. Bill S. -
older birkin wi/miata drivetrain for sale on ebay

Older discussion thread from 2011 when it was for sale at a California car dealership on Ebay: http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=6656 The car sold for $16,600. to one of our own who then had customs and logistics problems and it ended up back at the selling dealer (which still shows today): http://www.econpch.com/inventory_detail.aspx?@page_inv_id=10057 Believe it sold for $17,500 several weeks later. Current seller states "my reserve is set ultra low and 21K and it will sell for that" Bill S. -
Wonder what the seller wants for the Birkin :leaving: Bill S.

Let's just say that the cameras stopped showing the bidding after 300K (unlike every other car that went over the stage), making any number after that suspect. I'll leave it at that. :dupe: Bill S.

A little background since I mostly lurk here, I've been going on my annual "New Years Day" since 1979, every year, no matter the weather, or temperatures. When I did not have a convertible, I rented or borrowed one. To me, it is a cleansing of my soul, and a clearing of my head for the new year. I'm gone alone, or had as many as 17 others join me. This year with the forced closing of my business and the loss of my mother-in-law, I was originally going to go it alone, but today, watching the snow fall, decided to post it to the Cobra and Shelby forums at the last minute. Then thought to myself, the 7 guys are just as crazy as I am, I'll post it here as well and see if we can widen the net and draw in a few others. So, with that said, I make the following general invite for those who are semi close to my area of PA. Well, nothing like waiting till the last minute to post, quite frankly I was not even sure i was going to, but here it is. My plans are to meet up with whomever wants to join me at 11am in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot at the corner of RT422 West and Old Airport Road in Douglassville. I have no route planned this year, going to take some back roads and such and take turns as I feel like. So, if you want to come, make sure you are there by 11am and we can go from there. Here is wishing you all a happy and a healthy new year. Sincerely, Bill S.

Tom, Loveladies (LBI) here, once we can get down to inspect, we do not expect much worth salvaging, lagoon in the back, and we were two houses off the Blvd. Oh well, that is what insurance is for. We are not losing sleep. Bill S.

Jimmy, You got a great car, you may have not been the winner had not fallen asleep  . As for the other car you were bidding on (the one we speak of above), yes, I have followed your bids there as well. As for feedback count, it is not the amount of feedback, but how it was attained :auto: Bill S.
